How do you guys do it? How do you make it not lag when there are over 20 MCs on screen?

Uhh that depends, what are the MCs doing? AS2 or AS3? Are they animated, or are they still images?

They're animated but no tweens. They're enemies that chase around the player's character.

It's definitely possible to have that many MC's on screen without lag. Like Gimmick asked are you using AS2 or AS3? It is most likely something with your code base that is causing the lag. Also with your MC's make sure you are not using any kind of filter effects (drop shadow, glow, etc.).

The code's in AS2, there are no filter effects so the code itself is making it lag. I'll look onto this and recode right away.

You could look into using Adobe Scout with your game. It's free. It will analyze your game and can pin point where/what in your game is causing spikes of lag.

Thank you. I'll check it out right away.
