I really don't think it matters, and it's about quality as opposed to quantity.

Post count does indicate how many posts you've contributed to the community, but if it's all dick jokes, +1's and unintelligible drivel you've got nothing to be proud of. So what if you have a big dick if you nut before she even touches it, right?

Honestly, at one point when I was new (2005-2008 or so) I think I averaged like 30-40 posts a day.

Now I average 2-3 a week because I actually live an adult life and haven't got that much time to lurk NG.

I stopped worrying about post counts once I got kicked off another website. I had the highest count there at the time but disagreements between me and the site staff ended up with me not there anymore. For me it's now about posting in threads whose content or title will interest me. You have way better things to do than worry about a post count.
