It froze at the startup screen. It only will turn off. It doesn't matter if I hold the power button down it'll only return to that.

I don't really think Newgrounds is the best place to troubleshoot your tablet problems. Maybe try searching samsung support or other android-related sites like androidcentral? You won't get very far without more information though. What model is it, how old is it, did it recently get a software update or are you trying to load a different ROM like CM? While usually holding the power button down for 10+ seconds works for a lot of electronics sometimes different manufacturers will have you hold down power and then home button (like an apple device) or power and a volume button or some other combination.

Were you thinking about that old thread where a user tricked another user to delete system 32?

Back in the day we were downright malicious.
Now, though you'll get lots of bullshit and snark before getting actual answers.
While it's fun and less dangerous, this place is far from being help.

Damn, it took your notification make me realize the boo-boo in my post. Um... to stay on topic:

There's your problem
Have you attempted removing the battery from your device, and power cycling a few times with the battery disconnected?
Also.... if all else fails (and you haven't already done so) you can attempt a factory reset.
(usually a combination of turning the device on with one of the volume buttons held)
От каждого по способностям, каждому по потребностям
Have you tried smashing the fucking thing and get a tablet computer that actually is a computer (and not a phone on steroids), like Microsoft Surface?

*does a futile attempt at bringing back the past*
Seriously, though, I'd not be surprised if a device just flat-out stops working without any external cause whatsoever. Especially Samsung.
That's what you get for using a tablet instead of a laptop or desktop computer.
