China, that is
are densely populated with billions of people. Billions more then the rest of the world combined.
China has about 1.3 billion people, a vast majority of them speak Mandarin.
See this shit?
There are a lot of people in this country. If we took the entire population of this country (plus one American) and spread them all out evenly across its area, the American would be close enough that getting an erection would be enough to poke the person in front of him.
The natives would just be extremely cramped.
Mandarin Chicken is so good that people must speak about it.
It's because half the people in the U.S. can barely speak proper English.

The only reason there are so many Chinese is because they're technically the oldest surviving group of peoples. They've been around longer than everyone else.

I hear mandarin every time I see my father. I'm 100% white, just to get that out of the way. But my stepmother is from the mainland of China and doesn't even speak English beyond a few little phrases. She'll say "happy basuday" and shit. She really has no insentive to learn English not having to work and just associating with the other Chinese people in the part of Jersey they live in where the population is quite big. Church groups and shit like that. My dad, on the other hand, is fluent in Mandarin to the point that he has dreams in the language. It's kinda awkward visiting them. I feel like after several years I still hardly know this woman. How could I when I've never had a single conversation with her?

Probably because they speak it mostly in China?

Well English is pretty much the online default language for everyone so people learn it eventually, Spanish is spoken is a lot of countries so it's normal if you find people from different countries speaking it and Portuguese because there are a huge amount of Brazilians.
Please explain me this mindfuck.
I don't think i've ever seen anyone talk Italian or Russian yet i know they're both pretty spoken worldwide.
All this time I thought that pineapple was the most spoken language in the world.

Why the hell isn't Cantonese anywhere on that map?
When I think most-spoken Chinese languages, I think Mandarin, Cantonese, and Wu, in that order. I see Mandarin. I see Wu. Where the hell is Cantonese?

Because it's a dialect.
You look nice today.

Cereal is pretty cool. If you're cool you'll add me on Steam. Also, Letterboxd.
Why is it a surprise that Chinese is the most spoken language? China has a population of 13 billions, making it the largest country in the world. Therefore, at least 13 billion people speaks Chinese as their first language, not counting those who acquired Mandarin as a second language. And of course Mandarin is spoken mainly in China, and occasionally you hear Chinese immigrants speaking in Mandarin when they are communicating with fellow Chinese.
Chinese people do make an effort to assimilate into society by learning and speaking in English. Another reason why chinese is less spoken outside mainland china. =P

Anyway I don't get this guy who made this topic. It's obvious that most mandarin speakers live in China. There are also a lot of Mandarin speakers in Taiwan, and some in Singapore too. Also in the U.S. there are many Mandarin speakers in NYC, San Francisco bay area, L.A., and other metropolitan areas. Also many in Canada like Vancouver or Toronto.
y'know, i would like to learn mandarin chinese. learning any new language is fun
