If Mario characters were Pokemon

This is just a "what if" scenario, so humor me on this.

What if all of a sudden all of the Mario characters were Pokemon? They won't change into existing Pokemon, they'll just get Pokemon-related stuff, which is explained in the below question:

What would their Pokemon types, abilities, stats, and moves be?

For example:

Mario would be a pure Fire type.
Luigi would be a pure Electric type.
Waluigi would be a pure Poison type.
Wario would be a pure Ground type.
Toad would be a pure Normal type.
Peach would be a pure Psychic type.
Daisy would be a pure Fighting type.
Rosalina would be a pure Fairy type.
Goomba would be a pure Normal type.
Koopa would be a pure Water type.
Bowser would be a Dragon / Fire type.
Donkey Kong would be a pure Fighting type.

Interesting thread idea! Though I think I would have to make a few modifications to your list...

Mario would be a pure Fire type. (Makes sense)
*Luigi would be a pure Electric type. (Why Electric for Luigi? He shoots fire too.)
Waluigi would be a pure Poison type. (Makes sense, coolness)
Wario would be a pure Ground type. (It might be cool if he was also poison)
*Toad would be a pure Normal type. (I might consider Toad Grass type, because he's kind of a plant)
Peach would be a pure Psychic type. (I always thought she was Psychic or something...)

Rosalina would be a pure Fairy type. (Makes sense)

Never thought I would have to think about something like this, but really good thread idea I think. :D

I'm going by the electric hand powers he obtained in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.

I figured that Fighting best fits her personality.

Koopas are based on turtles and Kappa, which are both associated with water.

Donkey Kong is most definitely a Fighting type, considering how much of a fighter he is in the Donkey Kong Country Series.

Your first Pokemon choice would be Mario, Luigi, or the Princess.

Mario, Luigi, etc would start out as normal types but evolve into Normal/Fire, Normal/Ice, etc depending on what item you give them.
