It has always been concluded that cats view humans as the provider of resource. This isn't the first article that has stated such things.

However, there are certainly cats that do show affection toward people.

However, I believe it all depends on how you treat your cat as the owner. Giving him only food will of course make the cat think you only provide food for them.
