Before someone inevitably says Ben Afleck, go watch Chasing Amy, the Town, Argo and Jersey Girl. That's right, I said Jersey Girl.

I am too, even though I do like him as an actor.

Yeah, not a very talented actor. Have you guys seen Man of Tai Chi, though? It's a really awesome action movie despite Iko Uwais' cameo being a letdown. I wanna see John Wick, too.

Also

That man is, fucking, an animal!

I'm almost as surprised, however, that Russell Crowe hasn't been mentioned. He's so bad at emoting anything.

I agree with SCTE3.
Vin Diesel has to be one of the fucking worst actors ever. They way he speaks, it sounds like he's got a mental disability, he's never in anything good.
never in anything good

Bullshit. Bad actor or not, the Iron Giant is a great movie. Also, he was in Saving Private Ryan.

Yeah, or should I say nononono? Something about him is unlikable and off putting, too.

With the exception of Lawless, though. That was a good movie that made me forgive his presence.

Mel Gibson

Braveheart was inaccurate as fuck, but he was still pretty good in that as well as the Lethal Weapon movies.

Sylvester Stallone

Bad actor mostly, yes, but still some awesome movies. Dude is pretty dedicated to his movies, too, hurting himself in several roles.

He's done some pretty good roles in his life and some terrible ones, but the Matrix, Point Break and even Constantine are solid acting. Reeves is just an easy target, like Nicholas Cage.

A Beautiful Mind, Les Miserables, Cinderella Man, The Insider, and I've seen parts of Robin Hood but not the whole thing.

To be fair, underacting isn't as bad as overacting, but I just feel like I'm watching Russell Crowe play a character, not the character (with the exception of A Beautiful Mind, he actually did a decent job in that one).

He did a flawless job in A Beautiful Mind, I mean come on. Those little twitches and attention to detail.

He can act, the problem is that he overacts. Everything. Every role he's ever played he's gone way over the top and acted a little too much.

He does overact to accidentally comedic effect sometimes, but not always. Werner Herzog, Ridley Scott, Gore Verbinski, Andrew Niccol and the Coen brothers have all gotten quality out of him unlike, say, Neil LaBute or Simon West (I love Con Air as a stupid fun movie, but man he sucked in that lol). Maybe he just needs to be directed well.

Speaking of which...

Adam sandler, there's a guy with no real acting depth.

I dunno about that. He was actually pretty good in Click and Spanglish and showed some bit of talent. He wasn't brilliant, but he was competent at being more than just funny and conveying some emotion. I heard he was also good in Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me. Plus, he's actually a really good comedic actor. I think people sometimes overlook that when they judge whether or not someone is a good actor and just look at the serious side. He really knows how to deliver humor in a performance, but of course he hasn't really been trying lately. His movies now are mostly just payed vacations for him.

Seriously, anyone who says the roles in Magnolia, the Last Samurai, Collateral, American Psycho and the Machinist were anything but expertly acted has stupid opinions. Cruise may be crazy, but his craziness clearly has a payoff. And Bale's been a skilled actor since he was a child, and incredibly dedicated, too.

They aren't the worst of the worst that's for sure but they're never convincing enough and they usually are in good movies. This difference of quality makes immersion a tad hard for me, and only because of them. Maybe they're not awful enough for their names to be written here, sorry.

I'm assuming they're saying it because he always plays really awkward teenagers getting in crazy situations. I don't think it means he can't act though. His comedic timing is spot on and he does play his role well even though he's kind of limited

When people talk about Keanu Reeves and Nic Cage and all as bad actors, I don't know. I mean if you're comparing them to like Anne Hathaway or Bryan Cranston or whatever. But I think those guys' movies are fun as fuck. I don't normally think of Keanu Reeves as a fun actor but admit it John Wick looks like an enjoyable movie, and look, his beard is finally growing in! I think they're perfectly suited for the type of roles they play (most of the time, Keanu really should just stick with American characters)

This is more about how your body ages than acting. Also minor detail, but Cruise was in his forties when Tropic Thunder came out.

Dude, it sounds like you've just seen the Batman and Mission Impossible movies. Those guys are expert actors. Watch American Psycho, the Machinist, Collateral, Magnolia, and the Last Samurai. They're incredible in those whether you'd personally like the films or not (I do). Even as a child actor, Bale was pretty solid in Empire of the Sun. Maybe also watch Rescue Dawn. Pretty good in that. I'd possibly say Rain Man, I guess. It's a great movie either way. But it's been so long since I saw it.
