This is actually a well known music distribution service around hacker circles, and is popular on Hacker News (his original submission is here). It is legitimate. It's a good choice if you think you're going to be making enough money for the $20 per year to be worth it. At the moment, it seems it isn't as widely known about as I thought it was, so it doesn't have very many endorsements, but it's not a scam or anything. Incidentally, it used to be $50 a year, but it seems the price has been lowered, which makes this a much better deal than before. I use catapultdistribution like stratkat, but distrokid is a good choice too.
