Hi guise.
I'm Leon and I decided to start uploading my art in NG since I got bored of the "other" art site.
What do you think of it?
Any suggestions or anything? I really want to get better at this.

"the other art site"
Sounds like some sort of porn deal. Don't know why you'd get bored of that.

So yeah I checked out your work. Honestly it's pretty boring. Various female characters sitting in stiff 3-quarter poses with an appropriate limb or two outstretched, all in the same vaguely cartoonish bright style. I suppose if that's all you're interesting in doing, then you're living the dream.

For suggestions, I could go ahead and dump a whole pile of shit on you but there's no need for that. Just read this one instead and see if that helps you out some. As far as crash courses go it's one of the best.

Also consider starting up an "art thread", where you basically dump sketches, illustrations and every scrap of drawing you've ever bothered to throw on your computer. Not exactly a magnet for replies, but bloody useful in seeing progress. If you're into that kind of thing. I know Liefeld isn't .

As mentioned by Lintire above, it's all incredibly dull. You may wanna consider thinking about composition and actual environment / background elements instead of straight up empty colored voids.

Thanks for the honest replies.
I practice everyday different poses but I have a lot of trouble with them though.

another thing, is most if not all of your pics are anime girls where there is alot of reference images for them i assume? if this is infact the pose you're most comfortable with try a original girl? (if there is one in there and i have looked over it then my apologies, i only skimmed over a few)
try different expressions, that pose only requires a few minor changes to completely change the feel of the image and yea backgrounds! they don't need to be detailed, but anything adds a world of value to the character in them..
keep it up! and keep practicing :D best of luck

hate to be that guy, but the japanese anime style has been done over and over and burnt to the ground. im not saying dont do it, but its not going to help you get better. i got better at all style by learning the basics, drawing from life. drawing whats in front of me rather than from a picture. and you can take what you learn from life and apply it to the stuff that comes from your imagination. all i am saying is give it a shot.

that and draw every day, even when you dont want to. the progress is slow, but it happens and you wont even notice it till you look back at your old stuff.

keep it up!!!

also, this is something my art teacher taught me. seems harsh, seems obvious, but damn its true

"if it doesn't look exactly like you what you're looking at, then you got lazy somewhere."

basically saying consistency is the key. you cant half ass a part of it and go all out on another, you have to be equally badass through out the entire page.

I've done some but I've never uploaded them, they end up being sketches only because I'm never happy with the result.
Like I said, I have a lot of troubles with more complex poses, even things like a simple torso or an arm end up being a huge challenge and in the end I don't improve those at all.
