I find it quite difficult. There is always a new user posting that you have never seen fbefore. Some threads get commented on so fast, when you type a reply you're comment has already been flooded with other peoples posts. It's weird how you can really get into contact with 1 person here when there are so many people. Plus, some are assholes, some are nice, some are funny, and some are unpredictable.
Try lurking around a bit and finding threads to post in and see if there are any users who seem to "click" with you mentally. As in they think similarly to you and whatnot.
It also helps to look through news posts and see if anyone is posting anything interesting and trying to start a convo that way.

i would give a poke around the clubs and crews, find some folks with similar interests to ya.
and you can always shoot a PM to someone introducing yourself and while you're at it, click the 'add friend' as well!

Yeah, there's new people posting every now and then, but just watch for whoever is more active on the BBS. You'll probably identify with someone sooner or later, at least on a few posts. As for too many people commenting on threads, I would start a conversation there with one or two people.

I used to posts on people's news posts and wait for them to post on mine. After a while of repeating, this ended up with us becoming friends. This hasn't worked since 2007 though - maybe I'm just getting old.
