On no a bear!
Digimon is really good. I recommend the third season/series, AKA Tamers, as it's actually kinda dark, and takes place in a different reality then the earlier ones, so you don't have to watch those.
Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood
Trigun
Death Note
Fate Zero
Black Lagoon
In no particular order except for Bebop.
The only anime i've ever actually enjoyed (besides Dragonball/Pokemon when I was little) is YuYu Hakusho. So that's going to be my recommendation.
Also, I forgot to mention Steins: gate, a really god anime about time traavel that has it's funniest moments
Highschool of the Dead
+ Lots of action
+ Excellent English dub
+ Likable characters
+ Realistically talks about the social and political impact of a zombie apocalypse
+ Deliciously evil antagonists
- Too much fanservice
- Male to female character ratio is cliche
- Dialogue is occasionally cheesy
School Rumble
+ Kenji Harima
+ Kenji Harima
+ Kenji-mother-fucking-Harima
+ Extremely funny situations, even funnier characters
- Many interludes and subplots are boring
Sgt. Frog
+ Funny dubs
+ Tons of episodes
+ Huge nostalgia for anyone who read the manga
- Breaks the fourth wall a bit too much
- Geared toward kids a little too much for my liking
Haganai
+ Every characters is extremely interesting
+ Dialogue and character interactions are funny
+ Some awesome references
+ Great balance of humor and drama
- The male to female ratio is a bit cliche
- First episode is a little slow
- Some plot devices are reused
If I offer to help you in a post, PM me to get it. I often forget to revisit threads.

(Yeah yeah; opinions and shit. Bite me.)
Black Cat is about a bunch of bounty hunters pandering to a annoying little girl because she would kill them if they don't give her what she wants (few years later she winds up in Toloveru). Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann was about an orphan kid and his older brother figure who talks about random things while hanging out with a freakishly developed 14 year old girl who talks about anime, yeah, Yoko is a massive otaku. Nichijou was a poor attempt to mix Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, and a music video of Billy Joel's song "Allentown" together.

didn't make some of the characters any less annoying.

Bullshit.

More like cheap sex appeal every five seconds.
- Male to female character ratio is cliche
The whole damn series is cliche.
- Dialogue is occasionally cheesy
Is it.

Death Note, if by some slim chance you haven't already seen that yet.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Is eMOE shit guaranteed!
Then there's Monster, City Hunter, Hokuto no Ken, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Great Teacher Onizuka, Saint Seiya (thought it was plagued with crap load of fillers), DB series in general except for GT, YYH, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun.
Trigun needs to be remade, I mean the only reason why it ended that way was because the manga wasn't finshed that time.

That was the only thing the anime really had going for it. And yes, it did that pretty well.
+ Excellent English dub
"Sarah-fuckin'-Palin"
Not even close.
+ Likable characters
Cliche
+ Realistically talks about the social and political impact of a zombie apocalypse
"realistically"
"zombie apocalypse"
I personally thought the moral lessons and stuff came across very forced as well. They might as well be saying "We're going to give the viewers an unsubtle life lesson now!" in some parts.
+ Deliciously evil antagonists
Go play Dead Rising.
- Too much fanservice
It was one panty shot away from a hentai.
- Male to female character ratio is cliche
It was almost a harem, there were literally only two guys in the whole main cast. Takeshi almost got as many "action" scenes as he did actual action scenes.
- Dialogue is occasionally cheesy
Frequently, especially in their butchered attempt to cater to the Western crowd in the English dub.
"Sarah-fuckin'-Palin"
Gonna have to disagree with you here. Okay anime if you just want straight-up action, wasn't great though.
Go play Dead Rising.
[C]-Control, Jormungand, Mushi shi, Ga-Rei-Zero, Angel Beats, Samurai 7, Full metal panic, Deadman Wonderland, Ergo Proxy, Baccano, The Future Diary, Tiger and Bunny, Desert Punk, Sgt.Frog, Baka and Test, Durarara
All some really good anime's. All of them free on hulu. So yeah

Looks like you just nailed 90% of all animes, Kudos to you.
But what about the "Guy lost his memory and now has to Fall in love with the cute girl he found while he discovers himself so he can save the world"?

You have Afro Samurai as your userpic and you didn't think to recommend it?
Anyway, I'm gonna throw xxx-Holic in as my suggestion. The protagonist is a bit annoying sometimes, but it's well done overall.

If he hasent seen Afro Samurai then he shouldn't even be in existence lol
But i guess i just assumed he'd had watched it, its kinda hard to know about anime if you have seen that and Samurai champloo.

You can stay away from Nichijou then, but black cat and tenga toppa gurren laggan are nothing like the others i mentioned. All action, great stories, look em up
Watch Yu Yu Hakusho, it's like DBZ but with more interesting characters.

The tournament season was the best.

Then don't post in a anime related thread if you hate anime.
"As the old saying goes...what was it again?"
I didn't see it on the first page so close enough:
Cowboy Bebop
Elfen Lied
Outlaw Star
And almost ever Miyazaki film.
Avoid: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and Death Note
At 9/10/12 02:57 PM, Tarah wrote: Elfen Lied
Why are you recommending shit?
Lol, I never actually posted any suggestions of my own did I.
I R STOOPID
Well, my current all-time favourite is Ghost in the Shell, but it's been my all-time favourite for so long I can't help but think a better anime has popped up since it finished, so I've been trawling through lists of things that are supposed to be good. Most of it is just over-opinionated weeaboo shit, but some of the stuff stood out.
Kanon had its good points. Hell, if only the writers were a little less reliant on emo scenes it could've been a really good watch from start to finish.
Also, I've not watched it yet (it's on the to-do list) but I've liked what I've heard about Black Lagoon. It's supposed to be a purpose-built action anime, and it has a lot of guns and fighting and shit in it. In that respect, it apparently does its job very well, and it's definitely not full of annoyingly cute and pathetic schoolgirls (which is becoming somewhat of a rare treat in modern anime).

I thought OP could've easily asked the anime club for this.
And you could have done that rather than posting "Anime sucks, don't bother watching it lol!".

Teen Titans and Avatar The Last Airbender are my favorite animes.
