Every good name I could think of was taken so I took this one.
Its pretty okay, its named after a really cool medieval weapon. And its better than my old name (FurryDemon)

I ripped it off a nickname of a friend from college, since I'm unoriginal about creating usernames. I'm to lazy to change it to anything else.

My brother's internet alias was "Omegatech" so I was trying to think of something clever that ended in tech. I was playing Armored Core 2 at the time, where the main setting was on Mars. The level I was stuck on was on the moon Phobos. Did some research, knowing that Mars was the god of war, but unsure who Phobos and Deimos was. Turns out Phobos was the god of fear, and I kinda liked the idea of Fear Technology.

It was originally the name of my planet on this internet game called Hypernium or something like that. All I knew was that I wanted to use an X as a Z sound.

I got the nickname from my brother, it was at the time when Star Wars was in. I was 12
I got my username when I keep forgeting my other usernames.
it started when I created this 5 different usernames which I forgot.
So I decided to make something easy to remember.
It became my username on neopets, clubpenguin, and other sites when I was younger.
So now it became my permanent username both gaming and internet.

I've seen this thread before. My previous username was my name with my birth year appended to it. I changed it to gimmick because i) numbers aren't nice and it was something my brother didn't want to use (he learned magic and didn't use gimmicks, so I decided to use that as a username)
and iii) From Dictionary.com:

I was 14 and thought the movie Akira was the coolest thing ever. In retrospect, I wish I had picked a cooler/funnier name.
I thought by having deleted my original account i had back in 2002 because it sounded sort of stupid and the post history i've got behind on that one earlier was very open to responding negatively but this name is no different actually.
