Joanime was always one of my favorite flash artists and I always wondered what happened to her too. At least according to the internet, she had twins some time ago (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ?qid=20100921191637AAgC2ei). Every now and then I giggle at the prospect of a new cartoon like "Yet Another Day" but with children running around. I wonder if she had the children with Smiffy or if she broke entirely with who she was on the internet.
I know that one yahoo answer is hardly proof of anything, but I prefer to believe that rather than that she's dead. I know she originally left to focus more on her academic and professional goals, so it's entirely possible that she is a normal woman with a family now. I find it more likely than death, honestly.
It's possible she has her own life and a job somewhere related to her interests.

A couple years ago I PM'd Rubberninja on Deviantart. He said exactly what he said in an above post.
So I did a little searching, it turns out her full name was on the registry for her old website.(she even said it in one of her old cartoons, so its common knowledge)
But yeah, somebody had the same name as her, and was the same age as her on facebook.
i messaged her and she blocked me without responding.
So if anything...she's alive.
