No, girls at OP's age mostly think that the world is rainbows and jelly, and they don't even let a thought of their best friends being into them into their heads.
You see, girls don't like that, especialy when young. They are all about emotions and experience. They rather want to see some place live and have it around them rather than just watching photos of it on the internet or in encycopedia.
They care about experiences, and with the time, they label peope to different groups, depending on what emotions these people are givng them. The best male friend in young ages is just in a famous friend zone, despite he wanting just to bone the chick.

Girls don't know that, they're not born with such information, so they just like boys first, and think boys just like them too. In fact, that thought is so comfortable, that in the later times girls would like to have a gay friend, who wouldn't want to bone them, but still would be a male.
Girls just want to have some male friends. Just friends. A boyfriend is a different case. He had to move her emotions, and be a fresh experience to a girl. If the girl gets to know you a lot, and she doesn't realise the concept of stable relationship with love yet (which is pretty comon beafore age of 23 whatsoever), you're in a friend zone forever buddy.
