User-made icons on Newgrounds?

I would like Tom Fulp and the developers of Newgrounds to consider making a "custom user-made icon system" which allows user-made icons (esp. expresicons AKA emoticons) to be posted on the forum and other parts of this site.

If this system was implemented, many artists who upload their original artwork at NG may get their work discovered even more easily than at normal art forums which tend to have boring default icons (e.g. yellow smilies). So in a moment, you'll see an example of the type of code & custom icon NG-users could use at this forum etc., if NG developers ever made this dream into reality.

To post my "Never Been Kissed" expresicon (emoticon), users would type anything like :O3o: or :iconO3o:

they already have something like that on deviantart i think. i think it would mess up the "theme" of newgrounds to have it, but none the less it would be a nice feature to have.

What possible purpose would that serve? If it is related you can upload a pic to the thread. If it is not related, then it is not allowed or at least not welcome. So why should they implement such a feature?

If you were allowed to upload an avatar to publicly display on the forums, everyone would have like, dicks, or whatever. You can still change your user icon, which is good enough, shows up on reviews, n'stuff.

I don't know if thats true for sure (but I think I remember a few months back him making a really funny as troll thread) but if it is he is a goddamn persistent hard working troll.

Very unlikely. Either the icon mods would have to approve every one of these icons before they could be used (which would probably result in a big backlock and grumpy users) or the BBS mods would be forced to ban a zillion alts coming on to post "Lol I think so too :goatse: :goatse: :goatse:"

Thanks for telling me. I think our icons would be reviewed by moderators before the icons were added to this potential icon system. deviantART has dealt with the same "inappropriate" user-icon you mentioned (above).
