First off, you need to not be so desperate. If you're too hasty when choosing a good boyfriend, you don't want to rush it and end up with some jackass. Take the time to get to know the guy, what kind of person he is, BEFORE committing. The worst part is when people get in over their heads and they wonder where it went wrong.
If you want a nice guy you'll have to take it slow at first. You'll know his intentions with you soon enough, as it should be obvious by how he acts. Does he want to get immediately into your pants or does HE want to get to know YOU first too?
Just take it easy, put yourself out there and be confident. You don't want them do know how desperate you may or may not be, just be comfortable.
And being aggressive doesn't mean you have to dress sexy or accidentally drop things around guys, just talking to them is good enough.
