Just so you guys know, I might need an extra day. I'll ask TrevorW if it ever comes to that. Seeing how school drains up 6 hours of my time and I've gotten the notice 7 hours after the battle has started, that would leave me with 3-4 hours to write the poems out.
That is, if my dastardly procrastination does not get a hold of me.

That is more than understandable, especially since I have you fighting two battles at once. Let me know.

Okay, here's my first one I'll do for now. I don't feel like rhyming and I want more of a message to come out of this, so I'll try to be a little more loose on this one.
Light puddles the floor,
shining light,
and casting shadow.
Your eyes might take in the light,
but know this,
that you are blind.
These are treacherous times,
and what is truth,
than from what the data shows?
You may see truth,
but you are blind to it.
For emotion is what shades your view.
For from what a human sees,
is but of their own perception,
and cannot be trusted wholly.
You can think what they see,
with your intellect and view,
but can you see what they think?
For if you only see the shadow,
or only see what luminates,
how can you view what casts the defining line?
For what true sight,
is seeing that you do not see the truth,
but walk in faith that there is a light...
...to show the way.
I like this one, actually. Not as good as I would have hoped, but it serves it purpose, and for that I am content.

Aww, come on guys, I don't want to win by default on a 3 way match!
:/

Battle over. Funnyhomeboy was the only one to ask for an extension, which he got. The other two contestants were allowed to ride his extension but they still did not post.

I'm disappointed and happy.
It's such a hollow victory.

son of a gun . . . can this not count as a battle for me? I was away on my spring break, didn't have a computer in a miles radius of me.

Did you give me notice beforehand? I didn't check the old topic like I should have. I am willing to strike off the loss if I made the mistake because it isn't fair to you for my errors to ruin your record.

*picks up head out of the mass of papers and schoolwork*
Say what?

There, I said it.
Happy now?

Ecstatic.
By the way, good poem. I don't know if you intended this or not, but i got the feeling that it...how do i explain this...rhymed out of order...or something to that effect.

Nothing is perfect sadly. If the competition doesn't show in any real event the person that does show wins. It won't be changed.
