The comic itself is set in the 1970's, so feel free to make something that would fit that time period, although it's not critical.

I didn't see anything on the first post that said it has to be done in black and white. Could be wrong, even if I read it one and a half times. Guess you could still turn it into gray scale, but then everything would mix into a blob of solid gray.

changing the Style and layer settings helps too, but I'm gonna go for something more stylish, I like painting in grayscale.

There were plenty of ads for toys and stuff that promised way more then they could possibly deliver. Such as X-Ray Glasses, SeaMonkeys and stuff like this and this.

There were often ads in comics from the 80's (and i would guess at least late 70's too) for the "Olympic Sales Club" which was basically a pyramid scheme for kids. Kids would be sent stationary stuff which they would sell to people and then be able to get cash or prizes based on the amount they sold.
Here's a comic based ad of theirs...most of their ads though were just a page full of items you could win and how many items sold they were worth.

lol, just noticed it says 1954 at the bottom of that ad....so those ran from like the 50's to the 80's.

This is a great idea too. I hadn't even thought about those ads, but I loved em. Any style is fair game by the way, it doesn't have to be in the 70's. It can be any time period or idea that comes to you, as long as it's about Newgrounds:)

Hmm... I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that would be the Pico gang (Pico, Nene, Darnell, Uberkids etc), Tankmen, Dad & Me, the bots (P-Bot, A-Bot, I-Bot, F-Bot, G-Bot) Samurai Asshole, Angry Faic and Wadolf(? Lol). I would imagine you would be able to use Behemoth properties; Alien Homind characters and Castle Crashers characters. Sack Smash guy possibly...? (just throwing that out there =P).

Heres my entry. It was hard to think of a 70s style tankmen. I would make something with a tank, but i suck at making the newgrounds logo.
