When I was compiling the list by hand, I obviously had to pull a bit more than 100, or else I wouldn't have been certain about the top 100 being accurate. I ended up pulling to a bit past #200. But I didn't want to post the full 200 because:

A) it wouldn't have been for CERTAIN accurate.

B) It's always been either 500 or 100 (I posted only the top 100 on ADGBC, where Captain_Bob started the list, every single week the top 500 was running). Anything in between seemed... off.

However, because a few of your 101-200 century people have expressed sadness/regret about not seeing your names and yadda yadda, I've decided I'll go ahead and post the second century.

This is not guaranteed to be accurate, however. Still, I hope that those of you I mentioned (jonthomson, EKR, Patcoola, Iscrulz, etc.) enjoy this little EXTRA treat. #;-}>

Well, you got ONE more chance to see your name. And yep, you were right. #196 (but that might not be entirely accurate. You might have been #197 or 198, I can't guarantee the 196 because you're so close to where I stopped checking people's VPs).

Either way, congrats on making the top 200. You've got that spot whether a VP list exists or not. It's still a true thing... underlying NG's exp/b/p systems.

I've never seen the point of continuing the list since liljim said it might be replaced by NG. I don't think it's such a bad thing for there to be a period of time without a list, either. If anyone (in the top 25 or so) is that desperate to know their ranking, they can always ask me personally, as I will of course be tracking my own ranking for my own interest.

And besides, now I can fully concentrate on the pentalist (which I might update every week instead of every other week, I'll have to think about it).

We already discussed about the death of your vp list (before the existence of the NG grabber) and it looks like it ALMOST ends like we thought. The NG's voting power ranking and list will probably be implemented but nobody knows when or how :( The period of wating between both lists might be longer than the one we predicted in the previous discussions but at least the admins promised us something. Hopefully, we will enjoy the official NG list as much as sk's and your voting power lists.

We talked about the VP list coming to an end back before August 2004? (That's NG Lister, BTW, not grabber. Grabber = made by Denvish as a temp solution to problems in January. Lister = made by ShittyKitty)

Anyway, yeah, the waiting period might be long, but at least we know that it won't last forever. And BTW, the admins haven't exactly promised us anything concrete. liljim might decide against making an extended VP list and just do the top 50, or something. You never know. He and Wade don't want to promise anything specific because if they fail to deliver, the users who care will be justifiably upset.

Very well indeed. One year ago, I was way below the 6.00 vp mark and now, I'm at 8.68 vp and almost on top150. That's very impressive even though I'm not the only user that improved his vp and his ranking by that much, if not more during the last year. :P

No way is it 8.65. That 8.62 was from last weekend (the final top 500), and if you haven't noticed, the top 500's average VP rises 0.01 or 0.02 every week. It's never risen 0.03.

So... even though I have no way of knowing, as I didn't pull a full top 500, I would bet money that it's 8.63 or 8.64 as of yesterday. Either way, yes, you're above average for the top 500 now.

True enough! Speaking of a picture... I decided to make a little tribute to the list using a snippet of the Excel spreadsheet's view of the top 3 VP users (NemesisM66, Bila, and ramagi). I learned some new PSP techniques (though what I wanted to do was BEND the screenie into a curve, and I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I had to just cut out a curved portion of the screenie instead of bending the rectangle-shaped screenie period) and it was fun.

I would not! But I've been hanging around in the 90-95 region of the top 100 reviewers, and this recent purge of movies and thus reviews by Wade has really helped me out. I only lost 3 reviews (and quickly reviewed 3 movies to make up for it), so my 565 reviews was unchanged on SK's last ever update... yet I gained like 6 spots on the list. Now I'm up into the 80s. Nifty!

It was later pointed out that he would pass me at some point because my higher rankings are due to me depositing everyday. So I want to thank everyone who works on all the lists. It would seem that the Fulps would want these lists. It is less work for them to do.

not really. If the future VP list is automative just like the other lists then they won't have to do any work. I'm sure liljim could make a top 300 or 500 VP automative list fairly easily. He just has many tasks he has to do to keep this site running smoothly. And that's what the fulps want.. they want this site to run smoothly, and give flash artists a fair chance with having their flash judged by the NG community.

And no, I won't be posting updates... it's not an issue of finding a way to do so. Of course there's a way to do so: post one. But I won't, because I said I'd stop this list, I've stopped it, and that's that.

As for tracking it? Well, of course. I'm still going to track the people around me in VP. But somewhere in the 25-50 range, nowhere near the top 500 I used to track.

Thanks for the attempted edumacationing of staphita there, Bonus. But I wouldn't phrase it as "doesn't have the ability." I COULD have kept updating this list, but I chose not to. I wanted to show Wade that we listmakers CAN compromise and are sensitive to his concerns... and I knew that liljim would be coding a VP list of some sort soon, so... there's really no point in continuing. We'll just have a little break from VP listings, either unofficial OR official... until that time comes.

And not EVERY list has stopped. My pentalist, albeit in reduced form, is still going. Twice as often, too... just updated it today.
