So.... I was browsing through my files, when I happened on this strange Excel file. In it contained VP data from days of yore.
I have many such files... in my archives. They gather electronic dust, but they're still there. Waiting....
Then I realised that I I was supposed to do something akin to a VP update. Several times. So here's the latest entry before I completely forget again. You had better enjoy. And if someone would PM me next time an update is due, I won't hate.
lol. The epic tale of the forgetful listmakerer. WRITE AN EPIC STORY, one paragraph isn't enough!

mwaha! 10 15.xxers, and I'm bringing up the rear. 3%/4%? WE SHALL INCREASE ZIS AMOUNT. 152.69 VP? That amount, too, but at least it's a groovy number for now! Hell yeah. #;-}>

YESSSSSH! Top 10 VP, at long last.
Now, I wonder if I'll hit the top 25 exp list or the top 5 VP list first. Both will take a decade plus, I'm sure, but... interesting to think about.
Depends on what changes happen to exp and b/p and VP by say 2020 as well. Not content with the 2007 redesign, Tom Fulp seems poised upon MOAR CHANGES to the classic, fundamental structures of the site that shall unavoidably affect ze statwhoredom.
011) 14.99 -------- 9.37 Stormwarden EGSC -2
Stormwarden, your sacrifice is appreciated, but... now that I'm past you, could you please start depositing again? We don't need more completely dead old users. ;_;

BACK, BACK FOUL DEMON.
Ah well, 'tis better to have tasted the fruits of the top 10 than never to have been in it at all. If PMKD kicks me out of the top 10 before I can pass anyone else, so be it. I'll enjoy my time there as long as I can, and be happy that aside from PMKD's threat to me, I shall never leave the top 15, at least, unless I miss a lot more than 2-3 deposits a year, which is what I've been averaging the last half-decade.

If only there was some way to make sure you passed Captain Bob or Recon at the same time you passed carmelhadinosaur... but alas... ye shall inhabit the 37ness for some time, it seems. ;_;
Ah well, at least ye won't suffer, since ye be impervious to its evil ways, unlike myself. And I won't suffer (greatly), as I likely won't be paying enough attention, and by the time I do, perhaps ye'll have jumped all the way up to #36 after all. #;-}>

When is an update due? Every month, or so?
For awhile there, I coulda sworn Wylo was going for every-6-weeks-or-so, which is a perfect schedule for an intermittent stat-list-watcherer such as meself. But I think it kinda varies from 4 to 8 weeks/1 to 2 months.
Looking at it, I'm close on 2 more positions here, with carmelhadinosaur loitering with absolutely no intent and life loitering with a certain degree of intent. I'll see if I can overhaul these two by the next update, even if it is a short period of time away.
By the 36y gods, I hope so, but while you gained a bit more VP than life on this past update, are you sure it wasn't just due to rounding?
Either way... GOOD LUCK TO YE. GODSPEED, and may the bitter winds of 37ness not shred your sails 'fore the calming and steadfast breeze of 36 lifts you aloft!

The past few updates have whenever I can remember. But I suppose every month would be easiest to remember and schedule.
Eh, who needs a schedule. Just don't delete yer spreadsheet by accident. :D
Are Wylo and Wylina supposed to be the same person? Or was that just a typo?Yes we are. Sometimes I forget which browser and account I'm using since I'm logged into different accounts on different browsers.
Damnit! Why'd you give a serious answer. That was a perfect opportunity for a delightful MPD-ish joke. :D

IMHO, it is time to introduce 30 more b/p levels and set the highest b/p level at 120000 points which gives an user 100 % extra voting power. Under the current system, an user becomes a Supreme Commander after getting 30000 points ----even the highest EXP level requires more points than that. Let's compare the following two users:
User A: 30000 EXP points, 30000 b/p points
User B: 29920 EXP points, 120000 b/p points
Obviously, user A's VP is better than user B's under the current system. But throw voting habits aside, it is clear that user B deserves to have more VP.
The current system is flawed.
So 20.00 VP as the max? I'm not that opposed to that, though 16 has been the max for so long it's such an icon of NGdom.
120k? Jeeez... I dunno. I long ago said if they doubled EGSC to 60k, that wouldn't be so bad. The person who suggested a 100k top rank wasn't too crazy, either, but I'm inclined to agree with Coop that 30,000 is intimidating enough for the newbies.
And BTW, the only reason that the exp amounts are higher than 30k now is that Pimp and co. pushed them that high, and the upping from a 30 level system to a 60 level system might have done away with scaling, but it didn't do away with progressively-spaced levels. They had to go that high.
But b/p ranks weren't changed at that time... not to say they won't be in the next major redesign (which sounds imminent), but that's not to say they will, either. I think exp was kinda broken before the last redesign, and thus they changed the system. b/p wasn't broken then, and it isn't broken now (except for what people say about the whole blam/save balance being out of whack, which it is... but it used to be out of whack the opposite direction... maybe these things are cyclical).
Bottom line.... I don't want the temptation to resume b/p past my 2nd retirement goal. VP is high enough as it is for the 15+ers. Exp system and b/p system are apples and oranges.
