Yea the FAQ did state that... but also stated that whistle level increases VP.
I think they really do want people to be a lot more active in terms of reviews now. Which is also why they shortened the reviewing system down to one overall rating rather than 9 of them things.

Well, the new text in the FAQ does suggest "level" has something to do with the VP system.... and maybe it will soon, but not yet. I went up from 8.11 to 8.12 base VP a few days ago from depositing, even though I didn't level up. Things are the same right now as they always were, in terms of day to day tacking on to your VP...

That said, gfoxclock and gfox are significantly higher in VP now than they were before the redesign, and I don't understand that. :::shrugs:::

I just hope when they sort it out that the system isn't raped beyond all recognition. To be honest, with all the level changes and the static system and... the b/p rank badges/names changing so much, I wish they'd left VP alone entirely for now. And just made a top 50 VP list. ;_;

Yeah, we just gotta give it time.

Because trust me, if reviews and whistle and b/p were counting for VP, my 650ish reviews, my deity whistle which used to be in the top 5 (not sure anymore, but I'm sure it's not now), and my 60,000+ b/p would certainly be boosting my VP past 12.99, when I had 12.98 prior to the redesign.

I hope the FAQ text is just speculation by someone, and another admin keeps the system the same, personally.

my voting power is sick

Well this update is completely messed up. As u can guess, with the new re-design comes new VP calculations. I haven't determined how the base is calculated yet but everyone's has changed fairly drastically. It seems there is a much less of an emphasis on experience points B.R. (Before Redesign) so that should satisfy a whole lot of you users out there who want to be on this list but never had enough EXP. Many of the old users that were on this list have now dropped off due to their low B/P ranks.

I'll be changing the format of the list slightly. It will now include Base VP as well as B/P rank bonus so you people can compare where everyone is in relation to each other easier. This is due to the profile pages only showing the base VP and not the true VP which includes the B/P bonus (which also made this update hella longer since I had to pull all the B/P ranks down too).

Indeed... I knew that would happen, but actually looking at the update and seeing your list of the oldies falling off the list... it's kinda brutal, man! Ouch.

I'll be changing the format of the list slightly. It will now include Base VP as well as B/P rank bonus so you people can compare where everyone is in relation to each other easier. This is due to the profile pages only showing the base VP and not the true VP which includes the B/P bonus (which also made this update hella longer since I had to pull all the B/P ranks down too).

Base VP is awesome. And yeah, when I saw you had put b/p rank on there, I knew it was because our userpages just show base VP and don't show net/total VP, so you need to rely on it now.

It sucks that you have to worry about b/p ranks and bonuses now to get the final VP data for the updates, but... at the samer time, doing the first post-redesign update surely was the hardest part, from now on it's just a matter of checking for rankups. And since most of us are EGSCs... there shouldn't be too many. #;-}>

It relies on exp and levels. If you look at pimp, pre-design he had the highest level attainable, thus he also had the highest base VP attainable - 10.00. Post-redesign, he's no longer at the highest level, thus will receive a lower base VP. Since the redesign lowered the levels of the previosuly high levels, with respect to the addition of the new levels, and raised the levels of the previously low levels, that should be the reason why things like your alt accounts occur.

Does anyone have the new formula for calculating VP through exp?

This new system allows for the people who are most active on NG to be the most powerful, except for those who stop b/ping after EGSC. At least it makes some attempt to even things out.

My eyes seemed to fail me on that number. Its still 10.xx+. But everyone is still grouped closer, the range being from 10.6-13.8 as compared to before when it was 10.2-14.5.

One note, though... could you abbreviate it as "EGSC" instead of "Sup. Commander"? I think that would look better on so many rows of the list in a row.
