Dude, you don't remember that before I started up the top 500 VP list, I was actually running the list as a 7.50+ VP list and every four updates I'd make it 6.00+ VP.

Seeing as the next update is due in 2 weeks and there is some discrepancy between the VP on the profiles and the real VPs, I'll be waiting till 2 weeks time. If they decide to change the VP system before then, then I'll be updating whenever they do it. If they don't fix the profiles in 2 weeks, I'll try to do the list by manually combining the B/P ranks with the base VPs. No guarentees though.

Hopefully they'll get the total VPs on the user pages by then...

I think in part it was based on how many deposits you missed (that hurt your VP).

The most you can get from levels alone is 10, but since it's set so that even the highest exp users are no where near 60, high end users lost base VP if all they had was XP. The point of that was so that slackers who do nothing but deposit would have less overall VP than users who had taken time portal patrolling or leveling their whistle. And active high end users(i.e. diety whistles and those with lots of reviews) would still see an increase in base VP alone.

The max base VP from experience has always been 10.00, that's nothing new.

Did you read what I said, though, about my accounts and how weird their VP increases/lack thereof have been?

This account, with tons of whistle power, 650ish reviews, nearly 10k posts, etc. etc... This account suffered when the glitch happened while my two alts (with just exp) FLOURISHED.

And even after the glitch was fixed:

This account has the same VP amounts as pre-redesign.

My two alts with just exp? They have HIGHER VP. Only 0.10-0.30 higher, but still higher.

What stats of theirs are earning them more VP? None of them. Except that they've deposited nearly 100% of the days they could have.

Yes but what I'm saying is your level is getting you less base VP than your previous one did. That's the cause of it. Pimp's base voting power is now 9.2 whereas before it was 10. So while lower level users got a boost to their base VP(due to, in a nutshell, having been on the levels that are now under 1300 XP apart), higher level users lost some. I do think it could have been scaled so level 50 got 10 so that the base VP of high level users wasn't effected negatively though.

So im trying to understand this, why does it say i need 17,000 (0's not exact) till lvl 41, while on the older version i only needed 240 till lvl 41?

It's displaying your experience total before depositing, not the experience you have left to level after depositing. It told me I had 11280 left, but I don't.

That's ridiculous. Our levels have never gotten us VP.

Our base VP always came from our EXPERIENCE. And experience hasn't changed. Everyone has the same experience now as they did before the redesign, would you not agree?

If they've NOW chosen to boost the baseVP of low-exp users for no other reason than "hey, low-exp users need a break," then fine. But why is it that my alts, which have exp between 10,000 and 14,000... get a boost. But my main account, with exp a bit over 17,000... doesn't?

It's not like my alts count as low-exp... They're not that far behind my main account (and if you want to go by level, the levels are 33, 36, and 40). It makes no sense at all. I think the system is STILL glitched, just less glitched than it was on 7/17-7/18.

Yea the FAQ did state that... but also stated that whistle level increases VP.
I think they really do want people to be a lot more active in terms of reviews now. Which is also why they shortened the reviewing system down to one overall rating rather than 9 of them things.

Well, the new text in the FAQ does suggest "level" has something to do with the VP system.... and maybe it will soon, but not yet. I went up from 8.11 to 8.12 base VP a few days ago from depositing, even though I didn't level up. Things are the same right now as they always were, in terms of day to day tacking on to your VP...

That said, gfoxclock and gfox are significantly higher in VP now than they were before the redesign, and I don't understand that. :::shrugs:::

I just hope when they sort it out that the system isn't raped beyond all recognition. To be honest, with all the level changes and the static system and... the b/p rank badges/names changing so much, I wish they'd left VP alone entirely for now. And just made a top 50 VP list. ;_;

Yeah, we just gotta give it time.

Because trust me, if reviews and whistle and b/p were counting for VP, my 650ish reviews, my deity whistle which used to be in the top 5 (not sure anymore, but I'm sure it's not now), and my 60,000+ b/p would certainly be boosting my VP past 12.99, when I had 12.98 prior to the redesign.

I hope the FAQ text is just speculation by someone, and another admin keeps the system the same, personally.

Well this update is completely messed up. As u can guess, with the new re-design comes new VP calculations. I haven't determined how the base is calculated yet but everyone's has changed fairly drastically. It seems there is a much less of an emphasis on experience points B.R. (Before Redesign) so that should satisfy a whole lot of you users out there who want to be on this list but never had enough EXP. Many of the old users that were on this list have now dropped off due to their low B/P ranks.

I'll be changing the format of the list slightly. It will now include Base VP as well as B/P rank bonus so you people can compare where everyone is in relation to each other easier. This is due to the profile pages only showing the base VP and not the true VP which includes the B/P bonus (which also made this update hella longer since I had to pull all the B/P ranks down too).
