I got my new microphone through the mail today but its distorting sounds. This screen shot of the spectral frequency display of me talking into it should better illustrate the issues and the added problem with Audition, but that was lagging and jumping like that with everything at the time I recorded so that my be completely unrelated. I've tried the microphone with two cables and in both Audition 3 and Sound Recorder, with more or less the same results.
Other than the obvious mic being broke, what could be causing the problems?
Its a Samson Q1U if that helps any.
