Trip-step. Not a blend of trip-hop and *INSERT_GENRE_HERE*-step, but music that you're tripping to. Tripping on your toes, that is >:(

Everybody knows you shouldn't walk the stairs when playing tripstep, duh.

On an X-step unrelated note, I've found the best woofers ever! It could be fake but still...

How does that make it the best ever? I thought being able to hear when you're 30 was a good thing.

Just set up my SoundCloud. Not going to link to it since that's advertising but liking it so far. What does everyone else think about it?

I have a SoundCloud as well (you can link to it in your sig just like me). I think it has some good things NG doesn't have, like the following system (actually the follow4follow system but whatever), groups (make sure to join the Newgrounds Audio Artists group!), timed comments, tracksharing. Also the option to disable downloads comes in handy for tracks with a price tag (this would be useless in the AP because the AP is mainly meant to provide music for animations and games).
What I don't like is the 'New Tracks' section. It never shows ALL the tracks recently uploaded, it only goes 5 pages, and sometimes tracks just disappear from the section, and new ones come in place.

I don't think it's a good site to get exposure, it's better when you already have some exposure so more people can find you. There's also no voting system or whatsoever, so the only way to show your tracks to the public is to share them with groups and make lots of people follow you (by following them).
I'm not saying I have lots of exposure (I get 1-3 comments on very song I post there lol), I just felt like posting my music on sites other than NG.

Soundcloud

And as LiquidOoze mentioned, you only get more exposure from it by sharing, getting into groups and follow4follow, so It's hard getting well known in Soundcloud..

Everybody knows that to get followers on soundcloud you need to put a picture of a hot chick with big boobs as your profile picture.

Instant success

Grats on 2k.

I have a myspace page that I haven't checked in over a year, it's got songs on it from like 3 years ago. Don't care.

yeah, i've noticed every single artist has a myspace, i've never even considered making one...

Response to The Audio Forum Lounge 2011-08-06 01:31:23

I never used myspace. Its a cesspool from what I've seen of gawdy gifs and bad page layouts.

I've been thinking about creating a MySpace. I'd never start a Facebook because FB will claim the rights of any song you embed there. Twitter has also crossed my mind, but I'm not sure if I gonna do that.

Social networks

Trouble with the variety of social networks is that to make anything of them (as a brand, product, musician or whatever) you have to approach each one differently. People who use FB like twitter and twitter like FB don't tend to be very successful as far as social media goes.

arduino
So last night I was finally able to start futzing with the arduino I received earlier this week. I built a 'playground' board, of sorts, with some LEDs on it (to which I can add switches, sensors, what have you as I acquire them) and started fiddling with the IDE.

Minutes later, I had physical objects -doing- things in response to my code. It was glorious, and I never want to stop. If you guys have -any- interest in physical computing or embedded hardware or electronics projects, don't put off picking up an arduino (or whatever platform you think you'll like). You won't regret the purchase.

Upload to Soundcloud then link on Facebook. Myspace is useless.

Electronics

I like making physical things do things too. :3
I MADE THIS

It's an 8 channel PWM filter and mixer, if you're wondering. Takes the 8 voices of the FPGA synth and mixes them together.

I designed the PCB layout, had it etched and drilled at an electronics store and soldered the parts onto it. Whee.
