Sounds to me like you both fail at watching movies.

The right things to do would be for her to either watch all the way through, or be quiet and do her best to figure out what she missed.

Now for you, if someone joins late, just pause the movie and give them a quick synopsis, it cuts the stupid questions out and is better for you and them to do.

Oh, I did that. I explained everything in great detail atleast twice. I told her to do that also, I watched watchmen the first time at the same point she came in and pretty much understood it.
