Why won't you die, antivirus?

I've just been assigned the task of ridding my grandfathers computer of the plague that is manufacturer issued anti-virus. This shit is more malignant than the viruses it lies about me having. There seems to be no way to uninstall or end this program without paying 50 dollars for the full version. I need to know how to get rid of this, because the anti-virus scan loops infinitely and slows the computer to a crawl.

basically a think telling you that you have viruses and u need to download something to delete it...
the rogue anti virus system you have was propably given to you when you went on a site and they told you to download a special version of flash viewer...

Use spyware search and destroy and an antivirus program. It worked for me when I had a similar virus. Are these fake programs becoming more popular?

If there is NO POSSIBLE WAY you can get rid of it, the best thing to do is just reinstall the OS. Manufacturer's software sucks donkey balls, so you're better off clearing it and saving precious HD space anyway.
