Hey guys,
Just wondering how many VSTs you generally use for a song in FL Studio...
I can't have more than like, 5 Poizone and Toxic VSTs open before my computer becomes like... I d-o-n-'t eee-v--e--n k-n-o------w-. It's extreeeemely frustrating cause I can't hear wtf I'm doing until I export the whole damn thing.
And now I've resorted to exporting clips and adding them to the song with Adobe Audition xD

ReFX Nexus(synths, pianos, strings)
and VEC1, VEC2, VEH1, and VEH2(i count them as just one vst lol)
i can have like 12 nexus open, and my pc is junk so...well idk what thats sayin
So use less processor-intensive VSTs. The majority of things you can do in Toxic, you can also do in 3xOsc.
...i need to get more VSTs then...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Anyone want to tell me where to buy 'cough' them?

Can you link me to the tutorial you wrote on making supersaws in it? I never have time usually for learning shit, but I do now. I've always wanted to learn how to properly use that thing :P

Also.. OP, are you using ASIO drivers? It really seems to help cut out the crackle quite a bit.
I use whatever I have to use. I've never had a problem with my CPU going over 50... yet, but my laptop is tailored for audio production, so that also helps out (:

Try exporting a pattern as an mp3 then put it back into the song (This is assuming work on that pattern is done) That way it takes up less CPU

It's a bit outdated (by my standards), but it works!

Anyways, to respond to this post, I use samples almost exclusively. If you count each and every sample as a vst, then I use hundreds. If you count each sample category (like strings, melodic percussion, drums, recorded synth, brass, etc.) then I still use too many to count. Basically, I cannot, at any time, leave my channels unorganized in FL because I'll never find it again.

vsts = / = channels.
Vsts are actually these plugin thingies you install.
I used to use nexus a lot, and vanguard and z3ta too, but lately I'm not using much more than good ol' 3xosc. Sometimes nexus too though, for pads.

I use from 3-10 or more at times, depends on the project. For Hip-Hop, it's rarely more than 8, usually made up of no more than 3 different VSTi programs, maybe 2-3 instances of each. In Dance, on the other hand, it can get up 12-15 at times, usually 5-7 different VSTi's. And drums, from 4-10 for hip-hop, 3-7 for most dance as I don't layer so many of those since I have alot of samples with prelayered stuff in it.
Predator, Blue, StringStudio, LoungeLizard, Albino, AbSynth, Toxic III, Vanguard (still use it after all this time), and my own MadMoogER VSTi (made it in SynthMaker with Moog Filter and 4 OSC) are some of my favorites to use.
