Dnb Basses and Breaks Tutorial 2007-04-11 21:23:34

I've decided to start making some tutorials on Drum n' Bass. Each week or so I'll make a new
tutorial to put in the folder you're about to download. In it will be around 3 examples and a couple
samples (mainly drums) for you all to play around with.

After you download the file, open program files, click on Image Line, click on FL Studio 7, click on
data, patches, and then packs. Put the ZIP in there and extract it. It should be a folder called
cornandbeans tutorial stuff. Open the files in FL's browser by right clicking them and selecting 'open.'

The first two .flps are on making basses, and the last is on slicing breaks. I hope this helps. :)

I only take DnB advice from the RLCrew... hahahahahaha...

Do you suppose you could work with someone to post either .mid's or .rns's as well?

sure. I've got reason 3, but I suck really bad at it. :P

Midis... not so sure because they don't support much.

Great tutorial, cornandbeans!

By the way, where do you buy/download your drum loop samples?

I made that loop from mostly FL samples. If you resample and EQ a lot, you can get a really nice sound. I'll probably do a tutorial on that sometime soon.

I get a lot of great stuff at www.breakbeat-paradise.com though ;)

i dontknow if cornandbeans will agree with me. but i think that if you take the synth in step 3, i think it is. and lower it about an octave from what its at orignally, then put it in an effect channel and put a blood overdrive on it and a fruity chorus, can give it a pretty cool sound. but thats just my opinion.

This tutorial helps. I wanted to learn beat slicer and this is a perfect example.

Response to Dnb Basses and Breaks Tutorial 2007-04-14 18:43:11

you get a less of a defined beat frequency when you use three oscillators, it's more wobble than anything.

I'm making another tutorial now, with some examples of how to make signature basses. :)

Tutorial helped me at least ^_^
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1 024567&sub=79586 - That's what I got from it. The first part I had, then I edited it using what I got from your tutorial in the second half.
