G9, i'm not sure why you're confused how to make a pop filter. In Greeksta's picture, it shows a simple alternative: Pantyhose over a hanger.
I thought that was fairly straightforward.

Haha... so just anything over it? Perhaps like a napkin? :P
There's still question on the mic and external card, so please go to the thread so we can get a better hosting experience for the podcast.

Noo, you need pantyhose, or a material very similar to it.
Alright, so cloth. Okay... external audio card suggestions, anyone?
shure sm-58 $99
shure XLR cable $15-25
shure pop filter $25-30
destop mic stand about $15-30
and a digital recording interface by M-audio with peramp $150-500
I got my mic at Superstore. It came with a cam for 50$, but the cam works great. Oh it's a webcam.

Oh jesus... is there an online reseller where it has ALL of this stuff? I'd like to consolidate all my orders to one site... I just tried guitarcenter, didn't have the Shure pop filter or the desktop mic stand. Thanks though, for the list!
build the pop filter, it's extremely easy. Follow this guide. Yo can't use cloth, you need some nylon material. Cloth is too thick. Honestly though, it's a 10 minute project that can save you 20 bucks. Guitar Center should have everything you need. If not, go to a online store like sweetwater and get whatever you're missing. You could opt to get everything from them too, they may have a few specials. Try not to spend any more than $80 on the SM 58, I know Guitar Center runs sales sometimes on the SM for $75.
Shit, I don't have the money for everything... I'll do the pop filter though, I think that'll be sufficient for now.
