This was an informative experience.

I lost the project file when FL Studio crashed, and I had no backup for it, so I accepted my loss and moved on. Several days later (yesterday), I was browsing through my music files when I found a half-rendered sound clip of the song that I lost. I figured out how to edit the clip into a full song, so everything is back in place. :)
