The other day I came across a track by Jean Michel Jarre and Hans Zimmer called Electrees, my god what a beautiful melody and groups of rythmes, I loved it, nearly brought me to tears, I started doing research into how it was made so maybe I could do my own similar version, they programmed the whole song on modular synthesisers and recorded by tape machine. I was stuffed at a remake, So after days of twiddling in cubase and setting up arpeggiators and playing with chord sequences, I made a synth jam, this is not that jam but what came after it this is a song completely arpeggiated by hand, set out to the T and Im starting to love it.
Ill never get to the level of Jean-michel and Hans zimmer but im going to have a ruddy good crack at it.
Ive started of making this by layering the pads from Vanguard, Serum, Jupiter 8V, Kontakt 5. Then I added about eight layers of my first arpeggio; using Nexus and vanguard (another reason i'm not using an arpeggiator, because it would be impossible to sync up). In went the strings (another three layers), then a lead synth, which was cut short as I didn't want to spoil the aesthetic. Then the drum programming went in. It sounds slightly muddy and will need a good mastering session to sort it out.
This won't be the last crack I have at this this is Version 1.0
