This would definitely fit into a cinematic.
Written, sung, sequenced by yours truly.
I wrote this song all the way back in 2009, when I was feeling a lot of despair. Back then, I had regular access to a piano and I came up with this when improvising on it, when no one was home. (I didn't have lyrics then, but it didn't matter.) Around this time, I was listening to a lot of Mylene Farmer's songs, and I was partly inspired by what music she and composer Laurent Boutonnat did. The piano playing here was actually influenced by a particular song of theirs, Point de Suture.
These lyrics and vocals are basically me from three years ago -- my voice hasn't changed much -- and the instrumental was done as recently as yesterday (1 Aug '16). I decided to release it as it was, as an experiment, and to share whatever sadness I am going through.
Putting this under the Cinematic genre because that's probably the best fit I can find for this thing.

LYRICS:
I
The sun goes down
The western sky
Time passes by
Without a sound
II
The night is nigh
And silence falls
I cry alone
For someone to hear
CHORUS:
When stars appear
Let me never ever fear
No wind, nor rain, nor darkness
Can surpass me!
III
I stretch my hands
To feel around
And there I walk
Hoping for the light
This would definitely fit into a cinematic.
I really like this... So sad... hope... Despair.... Darkness...

Can't believe I missed this one. I should really be more active. Great arrangement, harmonies, lyrics... Really good song.
Thank you~
This song is a testament to the inability of shoddy equipment to overtake good composition. There were some moments where vocals sounded distorted, canned, or faltering, but the emotional quality made the ultimate difference for my ears, and you did a fair good job of mixing. I hope things improve for you.
Yet another amazing song by Troisnyx! Mixed very well. The only thing missing was the bass in the vocals. I did see that you address that in one of the reviews though. Your music is so amazing. The composition was done beautifully. 10/10
