I've been working on this off and on for a while now. At first I started working on a more faithful-to-the-original version that sounded, well...too much like the original. I mean, c'mon! That's no fun, is it? So I scrapped the cover idea and went with a full-scale remix from the ground up.

This has been a ton of fun to work on, and I hope you'll enjoy listening to it as much as I do! Full credit for the original earworm-inducing jam goes to Toby Fox.

I'm in a bit of a hurry, so no long review here, but somethinggg...

I love this take on the song! Even though I haven't played the game yet, I've heard tons of versions of this piece. And yes, this is a great one! It really drags the listener in. I think it's a combination of your effective bass and drum work, along with the other instrument picks (which I really enjoy) :)

The loop is almost perfect too (I mean, it basically is, but...). I can hear the slightest of click noises if I really want to at the loop, but I think that with most speakers and headphones, no one will notice :D
This was not really criticism though, just a random observation!

Nice job!

ChronoNomad responds:

Not bad at all for a guy who's in a hurry!

Yay! Knowing that you like my version makes me happy, even though it seems to have taken something of a hit overnight score-wise. Ah, well. This was my second experimentation with sidechains, and I thought I'd done a pretty solid job with it, but it's no surprise that there are some who will disagree and won't end up liking my vision for some reason or other. Hooray for the subjective nature of music! ;D

Yeah, that little tiny almost imperceptible pop...ugh! It really bugs me. I'm not sure why it's there at all, to be honest. In FL Studio it loops seamlessly, so I'll see what I can tweak to remove the looping anomaly. A totally legit observation, man.

Many thanks for another fine review, good sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Yay undertale! I really like undertale. I also liked your own additions to the song. The song is so good that it's tough to measure up to it, but I think you did a good job! The stuff I didn't like was that there's a limiter on the master channel. Also I think you should spend some more time making instruments to give you a better feel of what does or doesn't fit together.

Good job!

ChronoNomad responds:

Yay Undertale, indeed! I still haven't played the game myself, but the music is too addictive to not remix. It also won't stop playing on loop in my head until I do something about it, so...yeah. Sorry that there were things you didn't like about the mix, but there is no limiter on the Master channel. I suppose what you're hearing are the sidechained elements, and since this is only my second foray into sidechaining, I'm sure it's not as perfect as one would like. C'est la vie.

Thanks for the review!
