I wanted to upload something quick before I am AFP (Away from Production) for a week. This has been sitting on my computer for awhile and wasn't sure if I should share it. TOO LATE NOW!

This track was suppose to be jazzy, however my classical side had to come & I was too weak to stop myself. I can't even put a genre for this song because it sounds all over the place. SO easy listening is probably the closest I could describe it. and classical...well because, my jazz attempt is really only in the drums.

Ehhh... It's pretty cool... I don't know what to say; you people are making me feel unintelligent. D;

Overall pretty nice, mellow beat and progressive. Some weird complex melodies/drum paterns, slightly too complex and confusing to listen for this chill song. Quality is a little like oldschool jrpg, could use some reverb. I think some sampels either need reverb effects or better samples. What's the instrument at 1:05? :)

NicholasCabraja responds:

Hey Man, thanks for the review.
To what you mentioned and asked:
I didn't want to use a simple pop beat in my drums and your right they could use a some reverb. Not sure what you mean by old school? If your mean the quality. That's probably just a lack of sound design within the strings which are from EWQL lol and synths.
The overall tone of it was inspired by Nujabes. He also had complex drum patterns in his beat, yet it sounded chill and groovy. Haha

The sound at 1:05 is Massive. Basic tri and maybe some other weird ones with a filter. I made it dip nicely by assigning an LFO on Massives amplitude section and the rate is long
Once again, thanks and I appreciate it! ;)

Man, this is an awesome track!
So atmospheric, and interesting. Wonderful instrument choices, sweet chords and melodies, as well as good use of dynamics, and a good set of percussion to top it off.

While I do see why you'd put this under classical, I also think that ambient would fit it quite well :)
Amazing job, dude!

NicholasCabraja responds:

Thanks man! Ya this was a bitch to mix. I ended up bouncing all my tracks and throughing it into Pro Tools. First time doing that! I feel that mixing in only audio rather thank midi forces me to make everything fit without making major midi changes - if the arrangements good enough of course. :P
The solo vocalist in the beginning was a huge pain in the ass to sit right. So much head voice.
I can feel the ambience genre now that you mention it. The drums are the only dry thing to be honest! But hey, songs should have a 360 degree feel!

Really glad you liked it! Means a lot!
