=====================
Throughout our painstakingly long research period we have came across a lead in the Parasite
After disposing of the bodies of many human slaves we discovered a correlating pattern between the host and the dead
The parasite burrows it's was into the cerebral cortex at the back of the victim's brain and literally liquefies itself until it seeps inside of the entry points
Any person victim to the parasite will lose their sense of consciousness and will become a brain dead host for a parasite which hunts for nothing but flesh.
It slumbers over to the cages with the other test subjects in and screams and bangs at the cages as it's thirst for human flesh overrides the previous owner of the body will

I am abomination, reanimated shell of the host
Manufactured for death, scientific accident
Lack of consciousness, hunger for human flesh
Traces of humanity are painfully absent

We've made a damn mistake, our test out of control
A feral hungry body, a lack of heart and soul
Our colleagues fall before it, battered and torn
Our research was successful despite us forewarned
It broke out of it's chains, rotting corpse remains
Smite us with it's bite, wrapped in death's chains
Infection is a given, discovered as dead
Frothing through our mouthes, our heads are spinning seeing red.

For the parasite spreads it's eggs throughout the victim's body, transferred from the fluids of the host
Within mere hours our friends and colleagues become nothing more than flesh-hungry drones bent on the taste of flesh
I am the only one left alive several miles underground with no one except myself to depend on
I pray one last that I can escape this awakening hell and develop a cure from our mistakes.

Backed in a corner, legs shattered inwards
Parasitic death sweeps through my veins
Bitten and clawed, shamelessly marked
For I am just a victim who failed to defend myself
I can feel the parasite in my head
It seeps through my cortex, wriggles into place
It loses it's form and melts inside
Losing my consciousness, I'm a drone that died.

One by one the remains of my team fell to the prime host as I reached a dead end.
The stairway to the heavens above were blown apart and useless
Armed with only my fists and my agonizing fury I charge at the prime host
For if I am to die, I shall go on my own terms.

One by one my success turned thou plague
A catalyst of rot, snarling with hate
Cyber augmentations, fail to react
As it steps forward, ready to attack
Helpless and down, in a pool of blood I drown
My corpse dragged away, about to be put down.
The hosts stand around me, they laugh at my despair
No chance of survival, for my fate is damned and snared.

As I lunged at it, it grabbed me with both of it's arms and laughed.
My blows against it's form never seemed to of inflicted any damage as it bit into me and started to devour my life
As the last agonizing moment of my humanity remain, I can only see an exit which was useless to me
I damn our research and I damn the circumstance I died in.

Backed in a corner, legs shattered inwards
Parasitic death sweeps through my veins
Bitten and clawed, shamelessly marked
For I am just a victim who failed to defend myself
I can feel the parasite in my head
It seeps through my cortex, wriggles into place
It loses it's form and melts inside
Losing my consciousness, I'm a drone that died.

I love the creepy robotic vocals at the beginning and the ambiance. The vocals set the mood perfectly. I think I'd like it even better if they were even more distorted, just to set that dark mood even more. The vocals at 1:02, on the contrary, were a little too angry and distorted-sounding for my tastes, though. I think that you could make the vocals sound distorted and obscure without making them so aggressive. It is a rather long-winded piece, though, and I think it needs more dynamic contrast and variation in the instrumentals. Perhaps it's only my personal opinion that it's too distorted and angry, though. I think the instruments and mixing are pretty good. The ending was a bit lack-luster for such a show-y piece, though, and I think it really shouldn't be 6 minutes long - maybe 3 or 4. I might have added more reverb to the vocals, but toned down the attack a bit. Otherwise, though, a pretty solid effort. Keep at it, Lich! ;)

7.5/10

This wasn't good enough for the NGADM? How weird.

I really enjoyed it. Very exciting and intense, especially because of the drums.

This makes me squirm with discomfort, it's great. It's cringe-worthy, intense, and maintains an good, grimy vibe while still sounding very clinical and cool. All in all, it's a great, moody track.
