I've been listening to a lot of Buddhist meditation music recently and it inspired me to create a piece with a real Chinese atmosphere to it. I tried to steer away from the cliché generic 'Chinese' sound.

The idea of this piece is to represent a type of nirvana, a state of mind, symbolised by the Island I sing of. The mystic or guardian of the Island is alone in peace and is presented as being able to do anything. This is to represent a person's inner potential. One can only learn to truly love if one can love themselves.

Thank you to Ashakami for helping me with writing the Mandarin lyrics. I'm not a Mandarin speaker so please bear that in mind! ^ ^

Under crystal skies lies a world in disguise
Hidden from all pain, it became heaven's reprise
Sands of silver white shining bright glow eternal
Winds of endless time so sublime drift immortal

(The mysterious shore glitters with a pure white)
(The serene light will bring you here)

Only time will soothe the mind
Only hope leaves pain behind
Only fate will guide your way
Leaving hate to yesterday

(The winds of time drift with confidence)
(Protecting the magical utopia under the sun)

On the Mystic's Shore silk allure flows divinely
Nightingales of grey sing dismay so untimely
Distant shapes appear dancing clear on the horizon
Swiftly disappear from the seer of the island

(The mysterious shore glitters with a pure white)
(The serene light will bring you here)

Only time will soothe the mind
Only hope leaves pain behind
Only fate will guide your way
Leaving hate to yesterday

Translation of Mandarin in Chorus:

The jade dragon now soothes the golden lion
Singing tales of lands that no man has ever been
Only the sole island's watcher may walk here
Guarding the entrance to the secrets of the universe

This song is so lovely and your voice is sounds heavenly. The mix is great, and the layering of all the instruments is great. The way that you use the harmonization of the vocals is very tasteful and augments texture, both expanding it when the harmony begins and leaving your voice stronger when it stops.

Very well done, and good luck in the group stage!

Very delicate and harmonious, but also groovy and catchy; delightfully not passive.

5/5 - Would use in classic Disney animation during scene where protagonist contemplates journey's hardships.

I started liking this track until the vocals kicked in to be honest. Perhaps an instrumental version of this is in order?

I'm primarily a vocalist, so I prefer to create vocal/instrumental works. I keep instrumental works aside for projects like games in the future! ^_~ Thanks for listening!

- NGADM Round 4 Review -

Oh, this might just be my favorite track from you. I couldn't help but sing along and hum some harmonies! Very pretty. Your intro is wonderful, and 0:53 and 1:13 is just yes. You have a good sense of rhythm in your singing. Ah, the composition in this one is great. Outtro is done with no less skill. It's very lovely to listen to.

The only thing I feel I should point out is the vocal recording, itself – it is very clear, and clean; however, your voice doesn't mix with the rest of the track as well as your background vocals do, for example at 1:28 - they seem to hang above the rest of the instruments in an unnatural way. Still, this is an improvement over your previous tracks in regards to that. Overall, this a great song that I won't be likely to forget.

Score: 9.6

I uploaded a new version with the main vocals a bit quieter. Thank you so much for your review ^ ^
