Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

A few weeks ago a good friend of mine approached me, asking me to make music for a university project in the works. This project basically involves university students from different courses (art, programming, etc) to form a team and make a game that follows certain requirements, such as being hotel-themed, being a tower-defence game, and being suited for ages of around 8+.

So I got to work. The game is themed around ice hotels and I was asked to replicate something like this:

And I did, although I tried to make this a bit more ice-themed and kids-themed. It's got a lot of energy, it's fast-paced, and it's also my first time at anything resembling this kind of music, yay!

This uses Omnisphere for EVERYTHING, except the piano which is East/West Symphonic Orchestra, the laser effects which are from Fruit Kick, the bass which is BooBass, the sub-bass which is 3xOsc and the drums which are from Vengeance. Thanks to Decibel for urging me to use a compressor on this, making this the second time ever I used a compressor properly.

I had a tough time making this since I have a LOT of work to do, but the project was too good to turn down, and I had a lot of fun working on it!

That's pretty much it. Hope you enjoy, feedback is REALLY appreciated.

Great stuff! Nice production values, very cohesive, had a fun time listening to it =D

Step responds:

Thanks mate! I find mixing electronic stuff pretty tough but I'm glad the production value hit the spot for you.

Glad you liked it.

Love it! Especially the Geometry Dash level, it's perfectly synced to the beat and everything. What I've noticed though is that the GD version is slightly faster than this. Still, keep up the work~

Step responds:

Yeah, there's a reason for that! RobTop Games contacted me asking me if they could use it in Geometry Dash, but said it was a bit too long for them to make a whole level out of it. At first they said they could easily just fade it out at the end, but I thought it'd be better for me to do a custom edit to shorten it and add an ending, so I removed one of the sections, sped it up and added an ending note, which shortened it just about enough to have it in the game.

Glad you liked it!
