I can't leave this song alone for some reason. Anyways, I feel this is better as i've added additional harmonies and felt the voice was kind of adding nothing to it and so it was removed. Loads of sweet, mellow woodwinds to compensate though.

After spending weeks and months with what felt like nothing but epic and furious music I wanted to take a step and so the opposite. Simple, elegant, sad. The piece speaks of stories never told. Of worlds never woven and dreams never dreamed. All things undone before they were done.

Some people have told me this song isn't sad at all, however that's due to the song's inspiration being out of context. Here is the story to which this song draws it's inspiration.

The sky was so clear this time. He closed his eyes and felt the gentle warm winds wash over him. The ocean waves were distant sounding up here on the cliff on which he sat. Still he could hear them clearly and the effect on him was deeply relaxing. Interrupted shortly by a shifting weight beside him.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked gently nudging him with her shoulders. Elise. Her name was Elise. He had decided just then after she was created.

"Elise. I was just thinking about this world. It belongs to you. Long may you flourish in it. Long may you explore and create it as you see fit. Long after I have forgotten you and this place may your woven existence last forever in the realm of dreams and thought."

She looked at him puzzled. Her face taking on a slight frown.

"What do you mean?" she asked curiously. "Why would you forget me? We are here now and have been for years!" She waved her arm out in front of her proudly, her fingers gracefully gliding over the horizon of this world she inhabited. "All of this, is ours forever! We exist here and now." She looked up at him and smiled. She was so beautiful when the sun bathed that smile of hers.

"Have we?" He wondered what kind of dream he was in now. So vivid that he almost believed her. Despite this he could never bring himself to hurt her. He smiled sadly. "You're right Elise. I remember those years well. It must be this fine day playing tricks on me" He stood up, his clothes taken in the forms of robes now so that the wind may be captured in them. To Elise, he was always wearing those clothes.

Elise laughed gently, her laughter like a sweet song. So nostalgic.

"You're so silly. The sun has always taken your mind hostage. Why do you stay up here on this cliff edge so much? I worry some day the sun will make you forget you're up here and you'll walk right off!"

"Don't worry Elise. Even if I were to I don't suspect I would be hurt terribly."

"From this height I don't think it's getting hurt you should be worried about."

He smiled down at her. Such cruelty to know he would remember none of this when he awoke. Already he could feel the world shimmer and warp. The sounds of the ocean breaking up, fading. He would awake soon. Elise. poor Elise being part of this world could sense or find no fault in these anomalies and distortions in the fabric of their briefly shared reality.

"Where are you going?" Elise asked, her face growing worried. Had she noticed? Had she realized? He knelt down beside her and gently held her head while he kissed her forehead.

"Away." he whispered. "I'm going away for a while. Will you take care of our world while i'm gone?" That captivating smile returned as she drew a symbol in the air which he immediately knew to mean always. He stood up again, gazing off once more into the ocean that slowly started to break apart.
