I wanted to make an epic track that told the story of the first episode of Gurren Lagann from Kamina's point of view.

One of these days I'ma get my whole crew

I went up high once
I saw the sky once

I said goodbye once
My Daddy said to me

And then he sent me back down to the place
Where I spent so many days hopin' just to see his face again
It was a waste of time/So then I made my mind
Up is where I'd go so that I could find him
We live our whole lives underground/wonder how
Life would be if we lived above the stone canopy
I swear I'll do it too
You know that this is true
I am the great Kamina
What more can I tell you?

Do the impossible
Kick logic to the curb
Yours is the drill that'll
Break Heaven and Earth
Be the unstoppable

I know this kid who's a real good sort
With a soul made of steel he can drill even more
Than the best of the drillers in the village (He's the realest)
And he's got the strength of will to see it to the finish line
He was the only one who didn't wimp out
When the chief had a shout about the last breakout attempt
He stayed true to the values I hold close
And so I told those other toads to go home/Don't want
Nobody willing to give up what they stand for
When faced with a circumstance they ain't ask for
We clambor for a chance to get outside
But they ain't gonna let us even try to climb
I gotta do something drastic and fast/It's
Getting even worse everytime the earth spazzes
This kinda thing shouldn't happen/And so
I'ma make it to the top and take my awesome little bro

And suddenly the roof comes crashin' down
And smashes up all the middle of our town
I see a giant face staring all around
Now just what the hell does this overgrown clown think he's doin'?
Doesn't matter 'cause I'm gonna take him on
It's goin' well 'til I almost drop my sword
Then outta nowhere this hot girl saves me
They breed 'em cute/These topside ladies
The best part though is my brother Simon
He's got his own head/And then when he shows
Up we take the big guy down all together
And then we jump up to the place I remember
We see the sky above and the earth below
This is our destiny so let's go
You can believe in me 'cause I believe in you
We're Team Gurren/Ain't nothing we can't do!
