Dark Void is a track I created with the vision of a dark sci fi, possible final dungeon track for a video game. It sends you the chills of a foreboding danger. the Final approach before the final battle. I focus on melody together with atmosphere. Not like most games today where they only focus on the atmosphere which is boring to my ears.

The structure and melody fit the intention, but the sound design is an awful mismatch. I would expect a piece with this intention to have a more dark and foreboding sound design; to use sounds more subdued and creepy. As it stands the sounds in this piece strike me as what I might find in an electronic dance music piece instead of something meant to be chilling and dark.

Your sequencers are good. Now go back to your knobs and find some better sounds. I can't decide if I'm supposed to be chilled or if you want me to dance.

No matter what situation you make music for it should have a groove and or melody, and not be the annoying basic atmospheres that plague the video game industry today.

Excellent from beginning to end, and I've got to say that I disagree 100% with SadLittlePony, I can't hear a typical formula going on here at all, and whether someone used more grunge sound or not is up to the composers, I'd say if Doomrider here did follow that grunge sound as mentioned, then we'd start getting closer to following a ''formula''.

Hey, not bad. If you could perfect a few minor flaws, this would be really great. Maybe practice a bit more, and your music could be really good. I look forward to hearing more of your music.

I dont know how to put this, it sounds.... like your following a specific formula to create this piece. It doesnt really have the power of a dark song usually does. But I appreciate the effort. I would say next time use more grungy sounds and long echo like notes. Get rid of the colorful sounds to achieve a nice dark sound.
