This is for the Orchestra Mac12 Jan/Feb -

So this is my first track of 2012! Yay! So I thought to myself since the year 2012 is so popular for being our last year, then why not make my first track all about that.

For this I was looking for a sort of disaster sound, which was one of the hardest things I stupidly decided to do. However, although the entire track was to represent megasized chaos I did want to dive into a sort of survival sound, because that's what it's all about, surviving the entity which causes the threat. What that threat is, I'll leave to your imagination. Because of the nature of genre, I wanted things to twist, turn, stun and clash, yet then be able to come together. It proved troublesome, but so much fun ( I can say that now that's done!" lol)

Theres a full orchestra running here with aggressive percussion to cause a bit more drama and some choirs here and there to emphasise scale of events which take place illustrating the impending doom. You may find that you need to turn up your volume, my mastering is a bit poor and I can't seem to get things loud without distorting the sound.

I've heard some excellent tracks in the OrchMac12 so far, with some stunning compositions from great artists, and as I've read more to come! If you haven't heard about the OrcMac then there's still time to enter! The final date is Feb 15th. All the best to all the involved artists!

Thanks for listening!
P.S. My computer hated me for this project.

So some people are messaging me via PM and reviews asking what are you hearing being here is a quick list. Keep in mind, EVERYTHING is layered, so anytime you hear something it's no doubt sharing the spot with something else, even if its like two trombones from different packages, etc. I feel like it widens the sound, even if it puts insane stress on RAM and CPU (which both were maxed). But that's just my opinion, ive heard some amazing things withour layering, and it might be the reason why i have mastering problems.

Ok so i'm thinking about entering the MAC12... but it will be hard competing against hans zimmer disguised as this guy :P yeah u are that good. well done

EvilRaccoon responds:

lol, if only I could find out what he used for his drums back in the Crimson Tide, The Rock days, nobody seems to know.

You should enter though! Competing is fun, but it really gives me an excuse to just get down to it and make something. :)

I rarely write reviews but this honestly blew me away because when I write orchestral pieces I try to make them sound as realistic as possible but listening this made me think I'm not doing a good enough job because this sounds absolutely brilliant. The composition is flawless and it builds so well. I applaud you good sir for creating a piece of orchestra gold.

Sounds like Super Smash Bros. Brawl level music.
