What's up Newgrounds?!

While it hasn't been a LONG time or anything, it's been a while since I've dropped a fully-formed, original metal song on here.

Yeah, Burn7 has been slacking. And no, Burn7 isn't going to continue to talk in the 3rd person like some weirdo who was in a terrible bus accident and now has to walk around with his head in a sling. Burn7 will calm down now.

So this is a complete reimagining of one of my earlier works, Torn Asunder. I was originally going to just do a complete cover, but I ended up cutting out quite a bit and extended a few things. So this song is much more a collection of mosh-ity riffs and melodic harmonies than a full-fledged song.

I used similar distortion settings on my amp and tried to mix in the way I would have before. It's sort of odd, I actually really like the way this song turned out sounding even though it's quite different than some of my more current works.

- If you listen around 4:00, I dropped some fakie hexi-kicks into the drum part.
- My bass kick is boosted around 20db at 5283Hz with a punchy distortion to give it the bite right where I want it.
- This song has no compressors or brickwall limiting.
- While writing this song, I discovered how to mute the cymbals in my drumkit VSTi, Addictive drums. You can hear me playing around with it at 0:39 and again at 0:49.

- At 3:52, there are actually 9 different guitars playing at once. It's not that uncommon to multitrack rhythm parts, but I multilayered everything I could here. There are 4 rhythm guitars, 2 lead guitars, and 3 solo guitars. And, unless my calculator is lying to me, that's 9. But I really try not to trust anything that's solar-powered.
- No legal drugs were taken during the creation of this song. I did, however, consume 4x the recommended weekly dose of caffeine in under 8 hours to finish it.

*There is no hidden cowbell in this one. It's the first time in like 8 metal songs I haven't used one and... well, quite honestly it feels weird not having it in there. It's like somewhat of a signature move now or something.
