What's up Newgrounds?!

While it hasn't been a LONG time or anything, it's been a while since I've dropped a fully-formed, original metal song on here.

Yeah, Burn7 has been slacking. And no, Burn7 isn't going to continue to talk in the 3rd person like some weirdo who was in a terrible bus accident and now has to walk around with his head in a sling. Burn7 will calm down now.

So this is a complete reimagining of one of my earlier works, Torn Asunder. I was originally going to just do a complete cover, but I ended up cutting out quite a bit and extended a few things. So this song is much more a collection of mosh-ity riffs and melodic harmonies than a full-fledged song.

I used similar distortion settings on my amp and tried to mix in the way I would have before. It's sort of odd, I actually really like the way this song turned out sounding even though it's quite different than some of my more current works.

Try and listen for the hidden cowbell!*

*Kewl Random Musical Stuff*
- 12 Rhythm Guitar takes
- 32 Lead/Solo Guitar Takes
- 0 Bass Takes (Yeah, that's right. This song has no bassline. Bet you didn't even notice until I told you, either.)
- If you listen around 4:00, I dropped some fakie hexi-kicks into the drum part.
- My bass kick is boosted around 20db at 5283Hz with a punchy distortion to give it the bite right where I want it.
- This song has no compressors or brickwall limiting.
- While writing this song, I discovered how to mute the cymbals in my drumkit VSTi, Addictive drums. You can hear me playing around with it at 0:39 and again at 0:49.
- If you open the .mp3 file for this song in any Sony audio editing application, you can view my notes and markers for the song.
- At 3:52, there are actually 9 different guitars playing at once. It's not that uncommon to multitrack rhythm parts, but I multilayered everything I could here. There are 4 rhythm guitars, 2 lead guitars, and 3 solo guitars. And, unless my calculator is lying to me, that's 9. But I really try not to trust anything that's solar-powered.
- No legal drugs were taken during the creation of this song. I did, however, consume 4x the recommended weekly dose of caffeine in under 8 hours to finish it.

*There is no hidden cowbell in this one. It's the first time in like 8 metal songs I haven't used one and... well, quite honestly it feels weird not having it in there. It's like somewhat of a signature move now or something.

It's really good. This song gets stuck in my head for hours. Sad there's no bassline, and a bit repetitive, but the same thing happens to me. I get the AMAZING riff just stuck in my head and just mess with it. Anyways, yeah. Good job. Just as a side note, you said no LEGAL drugs were consumed; what about illegal ones? ;)

My opinion, since everyone's entitled.

Jewbit, 'screamy vocals' don't belong in good metal. The good classic metal was more hard music than it was psychotic growling/singing. The growling and screaming just makes it hard to understand and takes away from the whole experience.

Anyways, the song itself is great, and I noticed the lack of bassline, so nice try attempting to pull that one over on me. :P

3:52 actually sounds kinda messed up, but it's bearable, and still manages to sound good, so not too much harm done there.
Other than that, I hear no flaws. If I missed any, I guess I'll pm them?
Lolbai.
