Gathering of Bards (30DC)

In this loop, I tried to capture the loose feel of medieval bard music. I tried to achieve this through the use of harp, dulcimer, and tambourine, along with the thick instrumental texture and improvised sound of overlapping melodic voices. I imagine that it would fit well as a loop in a medieval themed flash game.

What image does it bring to mind as you listen?

PS. 30DC stands for "30 Day Challenge." It is my goal to compose 30 pieces of music in 30 days! This is day six. Days two and three were posted at: http://www.magnificat12.n ewgrounds.com

Sounds good. Very appropriate for a medieval setting I might say.

Odd, Unintentional Visions, but Exciting Premise

You just sparked an idea in me for an entirely new setting for a story. Feudal Japan meets Medieval England.

Nevertheless, beautiful piece. I like to see that you're not stagnating and that you're continuing to challenge yourself. Keep up the great work, and I'll see you at your next piece. Sorry I'm a bit behind the curve, but I'll try to keep up for as long as I can from now on.

BlazingDragon responds:

King Arthur's knights encounter the samurai of Feudal Japan. Who would win? That sounds like an original setting to me!

This piece is definitely different for me stylistically. My friends didn't care much for it, but it was a lot of fun. :D Thanks for the review, Chaos!

nice

good results for the 30 day challenge.

This mission sounds like fun!!!!!!!!

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks, Spike!

Sadly, my 30 day challenge became a 6 day fail.

Time for another bedtime story.......

In the land of Loc Lac,(Monster Hunter reference. :D) hunters from all around the world gather at the bard to drink their heart out sign up for challenging tasks, or forge new weapons to aid them in the battle ahead. The noise levels are ridiculously loud, yet there is no havoc. Just a bustling city that makes its riches off of the hunters' finds. They see a Dragonship appear and the crowd grow silent. "The party is back...." mumbles one hunter. They all wonder if they succeeded in the mysterious quest or failed. As the Dragonship lands, the anticipation grows. The party steps into the bard, and only the sound of clinking glass was heard........ The leader of the group drops a strange bag full of items. "So....anyone up for a festival?"
The crowd gets into an uproar of applause, since this had meant the party had defeated the most notorious beast in Loc Lac, the Jhen Mohran. Now that the beast was destroyed, a festival can take place in celebration for the party's triumphant return. And so, the festival was named "The Festival of Fear".

(Phew) I need to write a book soon. here's ur score before I pass out. lol
10/10
5/5

BlazingDragon responds:

What an awesome scene! With the music, it gave me very distinct images and inspirations. Write a book and send it to me! I would love to read it and write music based on it. :) Thanks for the awesome review, my friend.

sounds like something out of zelda

very good song though

BlazingDragon responds:

I was going for that. Thanks for the review! :)
