This is my contest entry for RAC4. I noticed that someone was representing Antarctica, so I thought, "Hey, what about the North Pole, they are quite the polar opposites!" I had previously written a piece called Antarctica and had a fitting melody in the works, so the North Pole was a no brainer!
Also, this an improvement to the previously submitted version. This one has more sparkles and solo violin instead of a violin section.

I love how you obtain the epic effect without overdoing it. Reminds me a bit of the Syberia games. It's hauntingly beautiful. I can't think of much else to say. All I can do is close my eyes and let the music paint the picture. It also sounds great, mixing is handled well, just a little clipping I noticed in one part, but in my opinion it's not enough to affect the rest of the song. Excellent work, and good luck at the contest !

And I think I just have to agree with the clipping. That was the loudest spot of the entire piece, so the clipping was inevitable.

You made the north pole a very unhappy place, haha. Thats horrible, you particularly corrupted my childhood memory of the northpole. ONLY because i'm stoned and i lose myself in my mind often.

Ya know, my favorite part about getting reviews and comments is to see different people's interpertation of my work. I personaly see this as just grand and beautiful, but to hear that it is sad makes sense as well. And don't worry, Santa is just taking a nap. :P

need to re-adjust the reverb levels as well as the overall signal. it is clipping at loud parts. :( other than that, it's pretty cool.
Yeah, it does clip at the loud hit. However, the reverb is exactly where I want it to be. The north pole is vast and open, so any less reverb would not represent it's vastness! I may be able to fix the clips, I hope.

This is defiantly better than the other version. Very ambient and mysterious, easily got myself lost while listening to it. Gives off the right feeling, and I could definitely see the north pole, although it may be a sad deserted santa's workshop ghost town kind of north pole.
