This is my first attempt at using Reason.
for some reason when converting this to mp3, the bass track that starts out at the beginning sounds shitty through a couple sections. I was trying to do a kind of 8-bit style thing with this. I played this for a few people and they said it was too slow, but when I sped it up it sounded shittier to me. I think it could also use a better drum loop. But overall, as a first attempt at using such a complicated program I am pretty proud of myself.

A nice, steady beat. The kind of thing you hear during a talking scene in a video game...
I'm gonna download this. Don't be surprised if you hear it in an animation anytime soon.

Not bad for your first time.

You really do a good job of making it a 8-bit style video game song, and I can imagine this being in some pretty cool game here on Newgrounds. The only thing I think needs improvement is the leading synth. Try tuning it down a little bit more and also try a different sound and/or pattern that way it won't sound quite the same.

Otherwise, this song is pretty cool. Good job.

Sounds pretty good, abeit slow

Reminds me almost of Amiga music except slower. Normally, I actually like video game songs that are a bit slower, but this is a bit too slow. This would sounds great a lot faster. But otherwise, I love the beats, I would like to hear this in an adventure game.

Silent-G responds:

I've tried speeding it up and I really don't like it. enough people have suggested it though so I'll probably upload a faster slightly remixed version. I would really like to see this used in something as well. Thanks for the review.

Nice, but slow. ;)

I think your friends where right. This could be a bit faster than it is now. But you achieved your goal in creating a 8-bit styled song. Not only because the instruments all sound like what you can hear on an 8 bit console, but the whole song creates a very 8-bittish atmosphere. It's hard to explain but when I started I instantly thought of 8 bit video games. :)

Silent-G responds:

I'll try and make faster songs in the future. I'm really glad to know that I got the 8-bit style down, I wasn't quite sure, so I'm really thankful to hear that. thank you.

Not too bad at all.

I really see something like this being used in an old RPG style game. Just one of those cheesy ones with a terribly generic story line on an old system that you couldn't quite save for yet. :P

Has a very video game type feel to it. Sounds to me like it would make very good background for music. I didn't exactly like how long you had the noise going on in the end. I think it lasted a little bit too long and sounded drawn out. Other than that not bad at all.

Silent-G responds:

it would be awesome to see this used in something, even if it were cheesy and terribly generic. I held the last note at the end for that long because if you listen closely, another sound starts to fade in a bit, and I couldn't figure out how to get it to do that without holding it for so long. thank you for the review.
