I wanted to make a song composed mostly of strings, when I was finished, the piece put into my mind images of a man being walked to the stocks to face his mortality.

Not too bad, man! I like the melody you've developed with the string instruments, but it feels as if there's an excitement that's being held back. The song is alright and could stand as it is, but there's still a lot of untapped potential. What I think it's lacking mostly is a strong, driving bassline.
The theme, story, behind this song is a man being escorted to the gallows, and while this is happening he is recollecting on his life and everything that he's done, I tried to shy away from anything too intense.
