I was inspired to make this ReMix after listening to somebody else's arrangement of the same theme, the Castle from Super Mario World. Like many others I've been a huge fan of the series' music for some time, but that particular theme is one of the most dark and exciting songs in any of the games, in my opinion. Even moreso than Bowser in Super Mario 64.
Anyway, the mix uses everything but the kitchen sink... huge custom synths, guitars, symphonic orchestra, church organ, you name it. I really wanted to bring out that ominous feel of the Castle theme and then amplify it further. Hope you enjoy it!

The background wave/synth/sound reminds me of "Rayman GBC Music - Rocky Peaks"
You're a true inspiration!

Just thought you should know.
I've listened to this glorious music dozens of times, and it's high time I write a review of it.
I am a lifelong Mario fan. My first video game ever was Super Mario World and ever since my imagination has been captured. To this day I consider Super Mario World one of the best games I ever played, and I still play it on a regular basis.
This piece could not possibly be more respectful and more nurturing of its source material. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you took a chance and placed your stamp on a classic video game piece. It extracts everything that made the original so good and puts it through an amplifier, making it utterly fantastic.
I get depressed when I sift through the Audio Portal and am unable to come away impressed with the music I find, especially when I see reviews which are glowing, yet undeservedly so. Then I remember this piece. I am fully comfortable saying that is is one of the best songs on Newgrounds and one of the best video game remakes I ever heard. You make the Mario fan inside me giddy.
