I have been struggling to compose a sad song for several days. With the theme of the current MAC being Sorrowed Tears, I had to come up with something fitting. Yet I've had no inspiration. I began to write one song, but I could not find a way to get past the intro. I had given up any hope, and simply submitted an old work.
Tonight, however, I was stricken with sudden inspiration. I began to ponder my life, my decisions, etc. Shortly thereafter, I also watched part of Spider Man 3. Without spoiling the movie, a certain sad point in the story was accompanied by some mournful music, and it gave me shivers. I HAD to write a song. I ran upstairs to the computer and got to work. 45 minutes later, this is the result.
This song does not represent simple sadness, nor regret, nor bitterness. I does not represent the death of a loved one or the emotions that such brings. What this song represents is guilt and true sorrow. It is the feeling you get when you realized that you hurt the person you loved most; that you made a huge mistake and now have to bear to burden of your actions. It represents the consequences of your greatest sins. It represents true remorse for your actions.
I truly hope you feel the sheer emotion of this song. It came from my heart, and expresses better than any words what I have felt recently.
