Hi there!

Just a few words to the meaning of this song:

You may think this song is a bit confusing or difficult to reconstruct. This song is as the title says my version of a soundtrack for a Dream. Dreams are sometimes also very strange and not really understandable.
I don't want to say that this song is hard to comprehend or something, I just wanted you to know what this song is about :).

I worked unexpectedly long on this song because I had a lot of ideas to put together and that takes loads of time. These many ideas are reflected in the songs length as you can see. (It's my longest work).
The whole song changes between very calm parts and very loud and smashing parts and there are two nearly improvised parts in this song although the latter is not really my best ;).
I will try to rework the song until it has a really good shape and I think I must change to my brother's piano because mine is mechanically at its limit (the mechanics are really old).

I hope you like(d) it and please leave me a review.
I need some feedback especially on this one to make my work better ;)

I think I wrote enough so listen carefully and ENJOY!

Good work!!

I like this piece alot but may i suggest more dynamics(sorry havent got the specific time code) and also if you added a cello or something, just to accompany and make the cord progressions nice and strong. A cello could also help enhance motor rhythms and keep the some flowing ad always going forward.

Dudidum responds:

Nice to hear :)!

I know that dynamic playing would enhance my pieces but I'm still not really used to doing it ;).
I've already tried it in some of my pieces and I know the difference^^.

Adding some instruments is often a topic.
I don't really know how to fit in another instrument without destroying the song itself.
I mean it would sound like shit if I add some computermade string instrument.
Since my piano is tuned down a quater due to old strings and never really in tune it would be twice as hard to add something.
Creating and using a midi file from the piece wouldn't be a solution either. The only way would be a good piano or keyboard. Both are expensive :>.

If you want to mess around with the song you can have a sheet music from it.
It's not complete yet but it will be finished soon^^ along with some others too.

Thanks for the review!

Dud

ps.: what time code oO?

very nice!

I really like it. Keep up the good work!

;-)

Dudidum responds:

That's nice to hear :).

Thx for teh review!

Memorable

I Actually wanted to give you an 9.5/10 it was a brilliance piece and you should be commentated on its length and colorfulness, to construct such a long song without looping the same thing over and over again... awesome stuff man.

My only criticism is as usual, not ENOUGH dynamics, yes there are obviously plenty throughout the piece but as i have been saying often for many entries, there are no intricate dynamics at times that there could be a little more.

5/5 and 9.5/10 from me

Respect,
DaJazzMan, aka the Dynamic Nazi

Dudidum responds:

Thanks for the nice words :)

But it would've been nice if you wrote me where exactly the dynamics were missing in your opinion.
You seem to emphasize on dynamic as I can see^^. Not a bad thing though I've left them out for long.
Although I think especially this song has a lot of those moments. You could look at the song before this one, perhaps it fits you better ;).

Thanks for your review!

Su-....su-....SUGEI!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to give some constructive criticism...

No, really. Out of all your songs, this is the one that gave me the feeling, that it could come from a reputed RPG, the most. IMO it sporadically had a Final Fantasy-like flair, which I can only laud, because it really means something to (almost) be at the same level as Nobuo Uematsu. At least that is what I feel...
Anyways, I'd be happy if you could devise more songs with that kind of mysterious flair or that maybe even possess a little bit of a dismal atmosphere.
Well done, Lee! *thumbs up*

Dudidum responds:

Well at last :D

I must say that I've nearly put most of my new ideas into this one long piece.
It was very hard to get everything in it's right order but I think I managed it somehow and in the end I was really happy with the outcome.
I had several problems with connecting some parts toghether but like in most of my other pieces I solved that by improvising these parts over and over ;).

Im glad you liked it but don't dare to compare me with god like composers of the RPG genre like Uematsu ;P. To reach his level i'd need a lot of EXP :D.

Thanks for your review!

Great overall

I enjoyed this song, feels like I'm going on a journey while listening to it. Would have gave it a 10, but there is some cracking on the louder heavier parts that really annoyed me. Very good other than that.

Dudidum responds:

It's nice to hear that you enjoyed it :).

As for the crackling: The microphone might've been a bit too sensitive and also recorded the sounds that the pianos shitty mechanic did. I'm really sorry for that and I hope I can fix that in an updated version ;).

Thanks for your review!
