After the organism has spread itself there will be noticeable changes in the ares it inhabit. Pictured here is a later stage of its ecosystem where it has already established dominance over the previous ecosystem. Once the organism has established a permanent residence in an area the flora and fauna around it begin to noticeable change and the landscape will eventually transform into one unlike anything on earth. At first the organism will spread onto plants from which it will then transfer itself to insects that will attempt to pollinate the infected plants. There on it will spread farther within the insects to other plants around the area. It doesn't take long until a large area is partially infected. At this stage the fauna around the area will still be moving through the infected area as the signs of infection aren't clearly visible at this stage. The insects that are infected will attempt to infect animals by making them eat them, herbivores on the other hand will become infected after eating plants that have been infected. After an animal has eaten several infected insects the substance on the infected insects will cause the animals to seek out an area that is more infected and then allow the organism to assimilate the animal to itself. After being assimilated the animal will rarely look the same as it did before as the organism will change the animals structure on a cellular level, re-arranging its bones and restructuring it on a cellular level. What is pictured here is a very advanced case of the infection, where the surrounding landscape has been completely transformed. At this stage nearby cities might be at risk to becoming completely infected by the organism.

After this cycle has repeated itself several times the area where the infection began will have became completely different, where there was a lush forest, is now filled with foreign fauna and flora as viscous oil like substance covers the entire area. Foreign creatures rise from the oil like substance as the organism continues to assimilate more animals into itself. These creatures will then search out more areas where to spread the infection once they have found a suitable place they will seem to melt back down to the oil like substance and begin the cycle again to infect another area. Destroying it is quite difficult after it has spread far enough as due to it's morphing capabilities conventional weapons do little against it. Burning them is usually a bad idea as well, as burning them turns the organism into smoke and if it reaches your lungs then you will be at risk at becoming infected. All in all you should nuke it from space, or somehow contain it.
